AfreecaTV TEKKEN League 2017 Round of 8

Taking place this Friday and the Friday after is Top 8 of the AfreecaTV Tekken League which has recently proceeded through Top 16. Among the 8 Korean players that will battle it out to make the semi & grandfinals are GoAttack, General, MulGold, and Qudans who are in Group A and Knee, LowHigh, HAO, and Jeondding for Group B. Round of 8 Day 1 matches will be taking place today at 10:00 PM PDT with the next on June 9th so be sure to tune in if you want to watch some world class Tekken from Korea. Combo Breaker 2017 - Tekken 7 Recap and Archives

Photo: @tempusrobRelive the hype and excitement from Tekken 7 at this year's Combo Breaker tournament event. Combo Breaker had 180 entrants for Tekken 7 with fierce competition coming together to see who would come out on top. There was exciting moments throughout the event like the the big upsets during pools and the matches during Top 8 culminating in a big Tekken spectacle. Thanks to the fast work of the streaming crew and Bandai Namco, YouTube archives for Top 8 of Tekken 7 are now available to watch if you weren't able to be there in person or catch the live stream. Aris is back from his trip to Combo Breaker and a recap video with his thoughts and experiences from the event is now also up. Arcade Tekken 7 Fated Retribution is Getting the Console Characters this Summer

Tekken project team leader Nakatsu was live after EVO Japan's Sai grand finals to present news that the arcade version of Tekken 7 Fated Retribution is getting the console exclusive Tekken 7 characters in a future update slated for Summer of 2017. The list of console characters include Lee, Miguel, Kuma, Panda, Eddy and the pre-order character Eliza so the arcade community in Japan and Korea will have their hands on these characters when the update comes out. In addition, a console Tekken 7 countdown event has been announced and it'll give people a chance to demo Tekken 7 before it comes out on June 2nd. Date of the countdown event is currently TBA but is expected in the near future.

Pre-EVO Japan Tournament 'Sai' Streamed Live on May 20 - 21

Taking place this weekend is a lead-up tournament to EVO Japan and this tournament is featuring Tekken 7 Fated Retribution in the game lineup. Expect a lot of strong local Japanese competition as well as Korean international presence as they come together in Akihabara, Japan to throw down in EVO's standard double elimination format. The per-cursor event will be streamed live across the EVO Japan Twitch channels with commentary so tune in on May 20 and 21 to catch all the Tekken action live. AfreecaTV & NiceGameTV Announces the AfreecaTV TEKKEN League 2017

Korean broadcasting companies AfreecaTV & NiceGameTV have announced a new collaborative Korean esports league dubbed the "AfreecaTV Tekken League 2017" (ATL for short). ATL 2017 pits together high level Tekken players that have performed really strongly in both international and domestic tournaments for a League with a total prize pool of around $5000 USD. ATL will be a big showcase for perhaps the best level of Tekken in the world and it will be streamed live every Friday and Saturday starting from May 19th up until the Grand Finals which is taking place on the 16th of June.
