AfreecaTV TEKKEN League 2017 Round of 8

Taking place this Friday and the Friday after is Top 8 of the AfreecaTV Tekken League which has recently proceeded through Top 16. Among the 8 Korean players that will battle it out to make the semi & grandfinals are GoAttack, General, MulGold, and Qudans who are in Group A and Knee, LowHigh, HAO, and Jeondding for Group B. Round of 8 Day 1 matches will be taking place today at 10:00 PM PDT with the next on June 9th so be sure to tune in if you want to watch some world class Tekken from Korea. AfreecaTV and NiceGameTV’s newest fighting game esports series, the Afreeca TEKKEN League 2017 (‘ATL’), continues as the group stage enters the Round of 8 to take place on Friday June 2nd and June 9th at 10:00pm PDT!
The ATL kicked off with an action-packed Round of 16 featuring many of Korea’s top Tekken players to battle it out in the first set of elimination stages. The four groups in the first series saw a few upsets as 8 players were eliminated in these initial pools. Of the eliminated, a popular player, Kkokkoma, lost early to MulGold and was eliminated by Breadman in Group C. Also, Korea’s best Alisa player, CHANEL, who was favored to advance, lost to Jeondding in the winners match and then eliminated by Qudans in Group D.
The action heats up as the 8 best players from the round of 16 advance onto the next series of double elimination groups with the two top performing players of each group to move on. The round of 8 will have GoAttack, General, MulGold, and Qudans in Group A. Group B will feature Knee, LowHigh, HAO, and Jeondding. Only 4 players can make it out to the semifinals to take place on June 16 PDT.
The round of 8 starts Friday, June 6th at 10pm PDT on AfreecaTV.
