EVO 2018 | Fighting Game World Tournament on August 3 - 5

It's that time of the year, the celebration world tournament of all fighting games is taking place this week in in the city of Las Vegas. Evo 2018 sees a staggering amount of competition spread across several fighting games in its lineup which includes Tekken 7 as a main stage game and Soul Calibur 6 as a side tournament. The SC6 tournament commences at 10 AM sharp in the morning on Friday with all the Tekken 7 pools starting at 8 AM on the Saturday with the Top 8 and exhibition of both games later at the Mandalay Bay arena on Sunday. For all things fighting games, Evo is not the tournament to miss out on while it's happening live so tune in with us and hopefully we see some new fighting game announcements.

Win a Free Trip to Evo Las Vegas 2018 in the Ultimate Ranking Tournament on May 5

The French Tekken community is putting together a big European Tekken 7 throwdown in France next month and the winner that prevails gets an all-expensive-paid trip to participate at Evo 2018 in Las Vegas. The Ultimate Ranking tournament is set to take place in the Boutique Orange Opéra on May 5th with top placing rank players in the region already entered and a last chance qualifier-like event on the day for any hopeful European player there. The venue is being shared with Kayane Sessions #27 which is a free to play training ground with free stations of Tekken 7 and DragonBall FighterZ in a tournament stress free environment for people to come down, play locals and have fun. The sign-up page for the Ultimate Ranking tournament can be found over on the Weezevent page for Kayane Session #27 but act fast, only the first 64 players registered will get the chance at the free Evo 2018 ticket. For people that can't make it there, the tournament is expected to be streamed live on Twitch so be on the look out for the live stream in the future. Tekken 7 Returns to EVO this Year in the Sunday Arena

Word came in from the Evo reveal announcement stream that Tekken 7 is returning as a main tournament game. Alongside Tekken 7, EVO will also feature Smash 4, Street Fighter V, Blazblue Cross Tag Battle, Guilty Gear Xrd Rev2, Injustice 2, Smash Melee & DragonBall FighterZ. Mr Wiz and MarkMan were able to detail the five games from this lineup being featured at the Sunday Mandalay Bay arena with Tekken 7, Guilty Gear, Melee, DragonBall & Street Fighter V but the line-up order on the day is yet to be decided. If you're a competitive Tekken player, the road to Evo this year begins now with EVO crowning the best Tekken player in the world for the year. EVO 2018 will be taking place in Las Vegas, Nevada on August 3-5, 2018.

EVO Japan to Feature Playable Soul Calibur VI & SCV Side Tournament

The SoulCalibur & Tekken 7 Producer Motohiro Okubo made an appearance during the Eastern Japanese online qualifiers for their national Tekken 7 tournament and relayed some news for Soul Calibur fans going to EVO Japan. The first of which is that Bandai Namco are planning to have playable builds of Soul Calibur 6 for people to try out at the event and it marks the first time the public will be given access to the new game. It wasn't disclosed what build the game will be (If it is still the Mitsurugi/Sophita build for instance) but more details about the playable SC6 demo is said to be coming at a later date. Next bit of news was bringing up that Evo Japan is having a side tournament for Soul Calibur V, the previous SC game on the PS3 & X360. Registration for that side tournament are now open so sign-up if you happen to be over there. EVO Japan marks a small resurgence of Soul Calibur activity so perhaps we might even see some new news or announcements about the series made at the event.
