Combo Breaker 2016 - Tekken 7 Recap and Archives

Taking place last month, Combo Breaker was a big event that was part of the official Tekken Tour on the road to the King Of Iron Fist North America Finals. As per usual, video archives of the Tekken 7 tournament are available to watch on the Bandai Namco Fight Channel for those who did not manage to watch the event live. Additionally, a well produced and edited Recap video of the event by Esteban is up that gives you great vision at what it is like being at a big FGC tournament event like Combo Breaker. Highly recommended to watch and for those interested, the next stop for the Tekken Tour is Wizard World Sacramento on June 17 - 19.

TEKKEN-NET Carry Over Data from Tekken 7 to Fated Retribution

Alongside the June 15 Press conference news, Tekken Official published a final complete list of all carry over data from Tekken 7 in arcades to the Fated Retribution update. Ranks are not getting completely reset but rather, you'll start off with a lower rank in Fated Retribution when it goes live next month. The most notable of news to come from this is that Treasure box and item development have been removed and that a new fight money shop is being implemented into Tekken-net. This news may not be much for those waiting out on console version but for those playing on the arcade version, I translated the list of carry over information below.

Melbourne Community Purchases Tekken 7 Cabs, Now Available For Play

Here in the city of Melbourne, Australia, the community has come together to purchase their own set of Tekken 7 cabs for everyone to play on. The 2 set of cabinet costed roughly $20,000 AUD to get down here and that's not including further ongoing payments for Bandai Namco's fee to keep it running making this a pretty extraodinary feat for everyone involved. For those of you in the city, the cabinets are now up and running and a streaming station is set-up beside it so you can play and record Tekken 7 footage. The pricing for the machines to play is $2 AUD to start and then every continue from there being $1 AUD. The shop is open from 10 AM until late every day of the week so come on down if you get the chance!

Headstomper 2016 | Swedish Fighting Game Tournament on 3 - 5 June

In southern Scandinavia this weekend is the HEADSTOMPER tournament featuring both TTT2 and Tekken 7 (arcade) tournaments. For what I understand is that, since there is only one Tekken 7 setup available at the event, the T7 tournament will only allow the top 16 winners of the TTT2 tournament to participate in T7. Think of the TTT2 tournament as a mini qualifier of sorts. With that said, lots of players within the region will be going and some notable names attending are JDCR from Korea and home boy The Main Man. The event is being streamed and you can catch all the European Tekken action over on Twitch.tv when they go live.

New Arcade Business Model for Tekken 7 Fated Retribution - Many More Character Additions Planned

Big news came out of the Kelot Cup tournament from the Tekken 7 Fated Retribution producer Nakatsu. First off, the arcade version of Tekken 7 Fated Retribution will be planning on using a new arcade business model when it launches. As pointed out on stream, this business model for T7FR means that the game will be getting long time support and managed long after it goes live in arcades in July. Nakatsu surprised both Hameko and Yuu on the mic when he said that alongside new characters Akuma and Nina, 'Many More' characters are currently planned on being added for Tekken 7 Fated Retribution. Next bit of news to come from the stream - In mid June, Bandai Namco is organizing an official Tekken 7 Fated Retribution event for the upcoming launch of the title in July. Lastly, the Yamasa X T7FR items which was covered in the previous post here. You can catch Nakatsu making these announcements over on the Kelot Cup twitch archives:
