TEKKEN 7 Arcade Tournament at EVO 2015 Announced
From the recent EVO announcement twitch stream, Markman joined onto the show to announce that Bandai Namco is working on getting TEKKEN 7 arcade cabinets at EVO 2015 and the cabs will feature pad ports so players can use their own choice of controller for the tournament. Full compatibility with every kind of device however is not guaranteed so be aware of that should you decide to bring an obscure kind of controller. Tekken 7 joins the lineup alongside Ultra Street Fighter 4, Ultimate Marvel VS Capcom 3, Guilty Gear Xrd, Persona 4 Arena, Super Smash WiiU and Melee, Mortal Kombat X & Killer Instinct.

So no TTT2 at evo or?
Wait, what?
Lame.
What kind of competition are they expecting when the Koreans and Japanese will have like 5 months head start on us, and we won't even have the game yet? People will be rehashing their old strats from TTT2 and TR, to much failure and face-palming.
People will just be imitating what they see on youtube or twitch, and nobody will have any new "technology" from "the lab" to bring to the table. Western competitors will still be in discovery mode while the East just tramples them like fat welfare queens on Black Friday.
Hell I even remember the TTT1 regionals, where Namco made the brilliant decision to host those tournaments before the time release characters were even finished unlocking. What the damn fuck. Then, they did it AGAIN when Tekken 4 came out. People had barely even scratched the surface of JFLS and other tech at that point.
Is that really entertaining? Watching a bunch of people drop combos and scrub it out, only to get mashed by those who have a 5 month head start? Sorry, but I don't just fall down and drool on the red carpet for Namco just because they make a decision. Don't delude yourself guys, the Tekken franchise wouldn't fall apart just because we went 1 EVO without a game there.
Plus, there's still Tekken Casino and side tourneys (where all old games go to die with dignity). But, whatever.
@cosmic forge----> Your posting reminds me of cunty mccunt Im serious. As for your post when is the east actually have 5 months start? We're hoping in east asia for arcade release because from what I seen so far, only nobi and genkids are the only one who have the advantage. Even South Korea wont have early arcade release this year. Only Japan
TTT1 regionals were not held without all time release character being available. That wasn't a factor in TTT1. Overall the US did exceptionally well considering they had yet to be exposed to high tier Mishima play and still pulled in 2nd.
T4 also didn't matter, the discovery of JFLS or other tech is up to the speed of the community and not for the tournament organizer to wait for. With that line of thinking, everyone would just wait, forever, since there is always undiscovered tech. HOWEVER, aside from tier 1 Nina tech, all late era tech was seen at the T4 finals and it was down to Bronson's Julia vs Arario's JFLS Jin.
T5 did conduct regionals before the full release of the characters, however, the unreleased character (Heihachi) was then banned from the finals so competitors did not have to learn the match up in a short time.
I have no comment on T7 at Evo.
Anyone who is negative about this is a fucking idiot.
I'm just happy that Tekken has some sort of a parents at EVO let alone Tekken 7 which I'm super Hyped to play. I really don't mind and Japan getting a slight head start over us that's usually how it is with fighting games. I'm just happy that it's at EVO. everybody should enter it and show the Tekken community some support.
THIS IS SOOOOOOOOOOOO FUCKING RETARDED THAT ONLY A CUNT LIKE HARADA COULD THINK OF IT!!!!
What's the fucking point of having a championship in a game THAT'S NOT EVEN OUT YET!!!??
Can ANYONE give ANY sort of good argument for that?? How are people suppose to be able to know what kind of changes to a characters have been done? They're suppose to just guess it??
This just really shows how big of a retard Harada actually is. It's almost like he doesn't know anything about the fighting genre!
Instead of having T7 as the main game, EVO should have TTT2 as the championship game, and some T7 cabinets for casual play or testing or whatever.
The game's not out yet, but it will be by March. I'm fairly certain whoever gets the game first will make lists of frame data and there will be plenty of matches to watch.
It is true we won't be able to bring the game to its full potential, but a competition is a competition nonetheless. The Romans didn't have guns and tanks. They had spears and shields and still won. Sophistication of battle knowledge is about the same for everybody. The Japanese might discover things first, but I'm sure there will be blog posts and videos about all that, so it's not like we're stepping into completely unknown territory. Mr. Naps even said the game felt the same game we've been playing for a decade now on ATP Live. Not only that, he did pretty well at the 20th Tekken Anniversary tournament.
In short, stop being ungrateful twats.
However, I can see what Cunty McCunt is saying. TTT2 is the better known game. That could be on the main stage and have T7 on display in preparation for the next Evo. On the flipside, Ultra Street Fighter IV players had about a month or so to prepare for last year's Evo and they were still able to pull through.
@cunty mccunt------> -_- UGH. You hate harada arent you? Just for your FYI its markman who come up with this idea not harada, the tekken team, or Namco. If you want to blame someone blame him.
I'd rather get the opportunity to play T7 even if I get bodied by Asian players, who cares about that? Put your ego aside and have some fun with the new game.
People are seriously complaining about this? Its better than no Tekken at EVO at all which is the alternative.
The idea is to showcase the game at the largest fighting game tournament in the world. Its more about marketing and letting NA players get a chance to play the game rather than have a legitimate tournament.
Alright! I know when I am defeated. Ocelot used great arguments to persuade me. And I also didn't know what t3k4evo said about this being Markman's idea. I don't wanna hate on Markman, he does too much for the community.
I still think TTT2 should be the main Tekken at EVO and T7 should be some other kind of casual testing booth or something. Anyway, I'm actually looking more forward to MKX which I'm gonna main seriously this time around. T/ is too far away to even bother.
Also, I love t3k4evo's posts. The English is AMAZING! "You hate harada arent you?" LOL. "Just for your FYI.." LOL.
What do you think FY stands for in FYI? Nah bro, I'm just kidding! I know English isn't your first language. No stress!
T7 will hopefully draw focus to the entire tekken series and create hype pre launch. They've really gone the extra mile, they didn't have to make controllerports and what not. Markman is a fucking god honestly for what he does / has done for the tekken community. I really hope lots of people show up now since this is well in advance (unlike last year).
Ok, so I finally watched the announcements and I think it is a good idea to have T7 at EVO. Just listen to the announcement @ 38:45 and the whole idea seems actually good. Now I regret my first fucking post. I was acting like a real cunt. Can you guys please forgive me?
Also, still MKX is tickeling my balls way more than T7.
Tekken 7 after all is better than the alternative. No tekken at all. Mr wizard dislikes the series so much that he let markman says the details. He even outright says no tekken tag 2 this year. As for mortal kombat X, MK series are fun yes but not really a good competitive game. Injustice which has the same gameplay as mortal kombat 9 has s horrible tournament. Either spam with zod or spam with batgirl.
Don't forget nerds, they may unveil totally new characters at Evo (playable?). Balancing out the playing field a bit? But what matters most is how well this game is accepted. If it sucks, it won't matter if it's at Evo.
