Korea's Green Arcade Closes its Doors

The end of an era. Green Game Land (그린게임랜드) in Daerim, South Korea is shutting down. News of the closure was posted by Knee alongside a photo showing the arcade closing up and starting to haul all the cabinets out. For many years, Green Arcade has been the cultural Tekken mecca that produced the best players in the entire world and you can see it with walls filled with posters and trophies across many Tekken games. All the longstanding history from the arcade; dating back to ancient days of the earlier Tekkens, are now over. The future for Korean Tekken in arcades is now uncertain. Thanks for playing.

Arcade "Tekken 7 Fated Retribution Round 2" Slated for February 2019

Update: Rumors of this upcoming arcade update has seemingly surfaced on the Japanese TekkenBBS site. I can't personally verify it's authenticity but for the sake of coverage, I've added and translated it down below.

Round 2 of Tekken 7 Fated Retribution is scheduled to release early next year, as details for a new arcade version of the game surface online. The full official title is "TEKKEN7 FATED RETRIBUTION ROUND 2" and it could potentially see the release of Season 2 content from the home versions of Tekken 7 carried over to Japanese arcades. This would maybe include the 5 characters included in Tekken 7's Season Pass 2 featuring Anna Williams, Lei Wulong and 3 other characters incorporated into a new version. There's not much else detailed about the release of this new arcade cabinet beyond that orders for arcade operators end on October 31st. Location testing details for the new arcade version of Tekken 7 should come in the near future, perhaps an announcement at the upcoming Mastercup.10?

Popular Twitch Streamer Forsen Reaches Yellow Ranks Online in First Week of Playing Tekken 7

Tekken 7 has seen a recent surge of popularity within the past week after popular Twitch streamers started picking up and streaming the game. Forsen, Imaqtpie, Sodapoppin, Dyrus and Moonmoon were among the recent greenhorns dipping into the online Ranked Mode while probably showing off Tekken 7 to a much wider audience. Forsen in particular was probably the most note-worthy in that group for sticking to the game and even climbing a fairly decent way in the ranks. Sure, Tekken 7 Season 2 did make ranking up much more easier and faster but, climbing all the way to Juggernaut within a week of picking up the game is a lot more than other people who've been playing for months and stuck in greens could possibly say. If anything, Forsen's playthrough makes an interesting watch of someone completely brand new get into playing Tekken. PlayStation Classic Pre-Installed with Tekken 3 Launches December 3

Sony have announced plans to release a miniature PlayStation Classic console at the end of this year. The PlayStation classic comes installed with 20 classic fan-favourite games including the likes of Tekken 3, Final Fantasy VII, Ridge Racer, Wild Arms and more that have yet to be announced. The PlayStation Classic features a much smaller form factor compared to the original hardware and comes bundled with original PS1 replica controllers to use with the system. The PlayStation Classic launches worldwide on December 3 retailing for $99. Tekken Ball anyone?

Tekken 7 Version 2.01 Update Fixes Unintended Balancing Issues in Season 2

Update: full notes on the changes made in Version 2.01 have now been added.

Word is out that Tekken 7 on PS4 are now downloading a '2.01' update for the game. The patch notes doesn't say much for it in the update history section but we can probably tell it's for fixing all the balancing errors like Lars' f+2,1 ~ SE 1 being a natural combo and Katarina's ff+2,4 jailing on block. The patch should be out soon for PC players on Steam and Xbox One if it hasn't already been pushed out to everyone so keep an eye out. More details on the update when we get it.
