Tekken 7 & SoulCalibur 20th Anniversary at San Diego Comic-Con
While EVO 2016 is almost upon us this week, San Diego Comic-Con will be a few days after featuring a return of the Bandai Namco Fighting Games panel. Tekken's Katsuhiro Harada and Michael Murray are once again expected to be in attendance with Markman acting as panel moderator for the session this year. "Special Guests" is teased for the panel meaning we may also see someone new on the panel alongside Harada and Murray (jbstyle was on last year's SD-CC.) As mentioned on the schedule, you can expect new updates on Tekken 7 as well as upcoming TEKKEN merchandise during SD-CC 2016. A surprising addition to this session is a special discussion on the 20th anniversary of SoulCalibur games. It's been awhile since we've heard from the series and this may finally signal something new incoming after all the previous 'Long Live SOULCALIBUR' teasing. Who knows what that might entail but the panel will not be one to miss for those who can make it out and attend. Bandai Namco's Fighting Games Panel 2016 is taking place in San Diego Comic-Con on July 22nd (Friday) at 1:00 PM

Soul Calibur Lost Swords Shuts Down Today, 'Please look forward for the next announcement!' Says Official Facebook Page
For people that played and followed Soul Calibur Lost Swords, you'll know that today marks the closure of the F2P PS3 Soul Calibur game. The Social Media accounts for the Soul Calibur series has been posting thank you messages for all the fans that played and enjoyed the game. The Soul Calibur Facebook page made it apparent that regarding the series, there's future announcements to look forward too so of course this does not mark the end of the series. As to what it could be, perhaps it could signal the arrival of the next numbered installment in the main series. That is of course, just my speculation however. The next major gaming show I feel I should mention is the PlayStation Experience event in San Francisco on Dec 5-6 so perhaps that is where we all might have to keep our eyes peeled too?

Soul Calibur Lost Swords Coming to an End on November 30th
Some bittersweet news for fans of Soul Calibur. The F2P single-player online PS3 game Lost Swords has been announced that the game will be closing up and no longer available to play come this November 30th. Bandai Namco are giving this game kind farewell and 'send off' with a new ranking quest and in game sales/deals for a certain period to commemorate all the times with the game from launch. The series is 'graduating' on from Lost Swords and the video announcing the news says it all: "The warriors may fade, but their souls will ignite again."
Soul Calibur Character Popularity Poll Results
Remember that Soul Calibur character popularity poll a bit back on the official Facebook page? Voting period recently ended and we now have the full results of which character from the series is the most popular among voters. Talim, a fighter which was not included in Soul Calibur 5 was interestingly enough voted on top of the rest of the characters in the series. The full results are up and you can see it on the Facebook page. It said that these results will help make the future of the series 'bright and hopeful' but whether the poll amounts to anything significant is yet to be seen. Slightly off-topic but, E3 is a mere few days away so maybe we might see something there?
