"TEKKEN-A Man Called X" Live Action Movie Revealed
UPDATE: Kane Kosugi's blog was updated with a correction that the movie he is working on is actually titled 'Agent X' (temporary name) and an apology to everyone. Harada also mentioned on twitter that he nor the TEKKEN team does not know anything about the movie. Given that the TEKKEN team is mainly a software developer team and the mistake being precise with the 'TEKKEN - A Man Called X' title, I'm thinking that this is some backpedaling after revealing the film to early.
Fans of the illustriously..... Crafted live action Tekken movie which was released back in 2010 will have a new Live action movie titled ' TEKKEN - A Man Called X' to look forward to. The movie is currently being served as a prequel Tekken movie and will star Kane Kosugi (Choy Lee Fut, Ninja 2: Shadow of a Tear) as the movie's main character 'X.' The movie announcement and reveal comes from Kane Kosugi's official blog which also details the lead role being his first in a Hollywood production and that the movie will begin filming later this month. I've added the links to the blog post and news from City On Fire below.

According to his official blog (via Kungfucinema.com), Kane Kosugi (Choy Lee Fut, Ninja 2: Shadow of a Tear) has landed a starring role in Tekken: A Man Called X, which will serve as a prequel to 2010′s Tekken. The film, which is based on the popular Namco fighting game of the same name, will be Kosugi’s first lead role in a Hollywood feature.
Back in 2012, when Tekken: A Man Called X had the working title Tekken: Rise of the Tournament, THR reported that Prachya Pinkaew (Ong Bak) was attached to direct. Currently, it remains unknown if Pinkaew is still attached.
Kosugi is known for 2002′s Muscle Heat (aka Blood Heat), but he’s perhaps best known to North American audiences for being the son of Sho Kosugi, who had a string of successful ninja films for The Cannon Group, including 1983′s Revenge of the Ninja and 1984′s Ninja III: The Domination.
Tekken: A Man Called X is scheduled to begin shooting this month. We’ll keep you updated as we hear more!

AWESOME, can't wait!!!! # FailFish
Kane Kusogi is a badass though.
*Facepalm*
One of the reasons why those movies usually suck is they use to skinny, whimpy looking actors.
Tekken characters look like not less than 220-240lbs/100-110kg
I wonder if the next Tekken will be a prequel too...
This is Iron Fist!
Oh god..
I hope it's even worse than the first one. Prequels are usually pretty bad so i'd say it's promising
I thought Namco had a lawsuit against the previous live action Tekken film? Kind of surprised to see this announced...
NO, JUST FUCK OFF! GAWD FUCKING DAMMIT.
The only tekken movie that would work would be a CGI only affair in the vein of Blood vengeance but actually following the real storyline heihachi's cruel treatment of Kazuya leading to his fall from grace and solely focusing on the original 8 characters and original tournament.
Then you could move into a sequel featuring the supernatural elements of the series and Heihachi's revenge and if it really worked maybe tekken three's storyline with Jin and such.
I dont understand why they always feel the need to write some bullshit script and storyline with no resemblance to the game and using just a cursory likeness of the characters. Tekken actually has a bit of potential as a movie if done right.
I bet Harada is pissed about this after the last one
The Tekken live action movie is a fan film/B-movie at best. What even crossed their minds to make another one when the previous already had a very negative reception?
It would be great if they don't focus on the Mishima clan. I mean yes, Mishima's are the face of Tekken but there lots of characters in Tekken with story that need expanding that Hollywood can do like say, Bryan when he was a crooked cop or Bruce with hate for Gangster or something.
The Tekken crew may get inspired and steal ideas for their future game directions from the movies.
Stealing ideas isn't necessarily a crime and in this case it's legit for them to do so. In fact I am
opposing the current ill copyright practices....
I guessed the game developer alone can't do unlimited innovations; these innovation must be
carried out and tested by the professionals, and the movies are a fairly good reference. Anyway
they do funded the movies and assume the ownerships, don't they?
