Tekken Talk #2 - Markman & Rip with Special Guests Harada & Michael Murray

Tekken Talk Episode 2 with special guests Katsuhiro Harada and Michael Murray from the Tekken team is now up on YouTube. Lots of interesting topics discussed such as the PC version of Tekken 7, Tekken X Street Fighter, Tekken Ball, post launch support, console/PC cross play and a bunch more. I'm going to throw this out there and say I'm all for post launch support for Tekken as it keeps things fresh and exciting and makes people come back for new content. Whether it is small things like new costumes & customizations or maybe something big like a game expansion that adds more Street Fighter characters turning it into Tekken X Street Fighter. (Don't go wild with that idea please internet, I'm not saying they're going to do that haha.) And of course, hearing that Harada himself is a big PC gamer and that all features that you can come to expect from a standard PC game are to be expected is very reassuring news for the PC version in comparison to certain other games with poor quality PC ports in recent times. Yosu Hakai Ou Cup - Japanese 7on7 East VS West Battle on June 25

UPDATE: Mastercup later announced that 2 additional players will be playing in this event turning it into a 8on8. Matador joins the Eastern team with Nobi and Yosurin joins Hakai Ou's team.

Starting next weekend is the 'Yosu Hakai Ou' MASTERCUP tournament named after well known Tekken players Yosurin and Hakai Ou. It'll be a tournament event on home turf for Japan's west Tekken scene as they battle it out against incoming players from other parts of Japan. For this occasion, a 7 on 7 EAST VS WEST event is being organised which pits the best Tekken 7 players to decide which region has the strongest players. Leading the Eastern Japan army is Nobi with his team of Kagemaru, Double, Tsubumi, Kabochan, Chanmura & Taris while the Western Japan army is lead by Hakai Ou with his team; Nisshin, Karei, Taisei, MakoRyu, Gen (formerly: Genkids) & Joe. The 7on7 exhibition will take place a day before the Hakai Ou Cup tournament on June 26 and they will both be streamed live on Twitch.tv via the Game Newton channel so be sure to catch all the action live!

Watch The Nobi VS Tokido Exhibition Match on T7FR's New Mishima Building Stage

Taken place at the Japanese Press conference event for Tekken 7 Fated Retribution was once again another Nobi VS Tokido exhibition match. Once again those crazy Japanese with their production levels, they had Lenne Hardt back introducing the players and even made Nobi wear his championship ring during the exhibition. It was a short set but Nobi used his Dragunov against Tokido's Akuma in the latest build of the game which will be out next month. The build had the new Mishima Building stage which is a sprawling elevator stage with a transition to the rooftop in the later rounds. Since the King Of Iron Fist Tournament 2016 was announced, Tokido mentioned himself on the broadcast that he himself is now interested in participating in Tekken 7 tournaments so who knows, you may face off against the 'Murderface' yourself at the next tournament.

Tekken 7 Fated Retribution Launches Into Arcades on July 5th

In addition to the KOIFT 2016 announcement at the Japanese press conference event, Tekken 7 Fated Retribution will be launching into Japanese arcades on July 5th. This comes real soon before EVO next month giving potential internationals competitors a small window to practice for the big global tournament. Tekken 7 Fated Retribution adds 2 new characters Akuma from SF and Nina with 2 new stages Mishima Building & Abandoned Temple (Akuma's stage). Arcade Side - The King Of Iron Fist Tournament 2016 Announced

Announces at the Japanese press conference event additionally, the arcade side of Bandai Namco will once again be running a King of Iron Fist Tournament series for this year and on Tekken 7 Fated Retribution. This is not to be confused with the North American side of this tournament which I presume will be running separate to this one. Official promotional videos of the event is now up on the Tekken YouTube channel and the 1st and 2nd place at this year's EVO will be invited to the finals event later this year!
