TTT2 - Namco Sugamo Cup YouTube Archives

The Namco Sugamo Cup event from this past weekend is over and I finally put up the archives from the niconico streams up on my YouTube channel. There's a lot of Japanese Tekken footage here which includes players like Nobi, Zeugaru, Take, Fukushi, Yuu and a whole lot more. If you missed watching the event live on niconico, you can catch up with these embeds. If you want to see the results for the exhibition matches or the big 3on3 tournament, be sure to check out the coverage thread on TZ made by Lizanias.

New Tekken 7 Announcement will be made at the Namco Sugamo Cup

Katsuhiro Harada just tweeted that the upcoming Namco Sugamo Cup event this weekend will feature an appearance by Harada himself and also that he will be bringing a new announcement regarding Tekken 7 with him to the event! The Namco Sugamo Cup for those who don't know, is a 3 day event that the Namco Sugamo arcade in Japan is running that features a True Tekken God, Nobi VS Take 'concept match', followed by a 3on3 tournament then lastly a beginner tournament over the span of 3 days. The Namco Sugamo Cup is occurring this weekend starting from the Saturday up until the Monday in Japan at the Namco Sugamo game center with the Tekken 7 announcement being made and streamed on niconico during the 3on3 Tournament event. Since it's on niconico, I'll be sure to put up the archives on YouTube eventually.

TV E-Sports MAX Episode Snippet Featuring Nobi

In Namco Sugamo, newer players or customers that show up to the arcade may be daunted by the level of skill the average player over there has and may have trouble keeping up when playing against them. As such, the arcade has officially recognized and employed Japan's top player Nobi (or 'Instructor-san' as some of the players call him) to help teach players how to play the game and give advice on how they can improve and get better. If you have the credits to play on a side-by-side TTT2 cabinet and Nobi has the time, it may be a much wiser investment then continually losing to a really good player. To better illustrate all this, the E-Sports MAX TV show that currently airs over on the Tokyo MX TV channel in Japan filmed a small episode featuring Nobi showing the TV show's co-host the ropes of the game. The snippet of the episode is now viewable on TOKYO MX's YouTube channel.

TTT2 - Nobi VS JDCR & Knee Tekken God Matches

Back on the first of November, you may remember that the Koreans (Saint, JDCR, Nin, Knee & Chanel) were over inside Japan's Namco Sugamo store for some deathmatching prior to MASTERCUP.6. The result of this was of course a long series of exciting matches that were all off stream that culminated in Japan finally getting it's first player that owns the 'True Tekken God' rank. Nobi recently decided to broadcast these matches onto his niconico site and I have it all archived below for everyone to see.

TTT2 - New Years Eve Events from Namco Sugamo

What better way to welcome the new year then by holding several big tournaments inside Japan's major home for Tekken. First, a 3on3 'generations' tournament was held that had players partnered up only with other players at close to the same age you (one up or one age below you is the max). Second, a 'Sugamo Off' which I still don't quite fully what exactly is but it seems to turn into a multiple hour spanning 2on2 later on. Lastly, another 3on3 tournament with a 'HinoP Forces VS Nobi Forces' battle at the end which gathers 28 other players to battle it out in a big 29 VS 29 match just before the new year. Happy new years everyone, enjoy the archives.
