Soul Calibur 6 - Voldo Battle Director Comment
With every character reveal in Soul Calibur 6, the game's Battle Director Oosaka (@oosaka_twt) goes out to give small gameplay details on how the character plays in the new game. The recent of which is Voldo, and it gives a good overview of what the character is all about in terms of combat for newer players. It even gives a slight tease on unique properties for Voldo on the way his Soul Charge and Critical Edges work. I have localised the developer comment passage below but you can find the original source of it in Japanese over at the Gamer website:

Voldo is a 'tricky' type of character when fighting, not only when fighting face-to-face with the opponent, but also when he is back turned as he has multiple attacks which he can do with his back facing towards the opponent.
When attacking with Voldo from the front, he has several attacks that are long range making it easy to fight at a distance. When he has his back towards the opponent, he has access to several shorter range but really fast attacks for fighting up close.
When he enters his unique 'bridge' stance (Mantis Crawl), Voldo's combat action changes completely with heavy hitting attacks from the stance depending on whether his legs or his head is facing towards the opponent.
Please enjoy using some of Voldo's unique elements this time around which now includes different properties for both his Soul Charge and Critical Edge depending on if he activates them from the front or from the back.
