Bandai Namco Brand Manager on Soul Calibur 6 Esports: 'You Need to Make a Good Game First'

PAX East is taking place this weekend and more and more attendees are trying their hands on the new Soul Calibur game. Darrian P. Mack from the Leaderboard is one of the lucky few to make it out to PAX East and score an interview about Soul Calibur 6 with the Bandai Namco Brand Manager Mark Religioso. While a lot of the interview mainly focuses on introducing the game to people and seeing if he can get a quick confirmation or tease on some missing character inclusions (spoilers: he failed lol), Mark was able to detail their current stance and focus with the game at it's current stage of development."You need to make a good game first and then the community comes out and supports it. If they want like an Esports type of execution or program then we can do that." Mark goes on to say that the current focus on SC6's development is really solid gameplay. Hard to disagree there and should be hopeful for the casual playing audience since it's reassurance that they're not compromising on the single player content for the sake of Esports. You can check out the full interview from PAX East over on the Leaderboard's YouTube channel.
