Battle Arena Melbourne 8 | Australian Fighting Game Tournament on May 13 - 15

The weekend after this weekend (May 13 - 15) is Australia's eighth annual Battle Arena Melbourne which is going to be a 3-day fighting game event in Melbourne's inner city. A Capcom Pro tour event, DOA5LR's Battle Royal 2016 qualifier and now recently announced Tekken 7 tournament with a $1,000 pot bonus courtesy of Bandai Namco Entertainment. I myself am personally participating at the event so I hope to see everyone there! If you guys are interested in fighting games such Street Fighter, Mortal Kombat, Smash Brothers, Tekken, Guilty Gear, come along to Battle Arena Melbourne - it's our eighth iteration and it will be a three day fighting game bonanza held in the heart of the city at the CQ Hotel.

By earning Ranking Points at BAM8, OHN14 and other Capcom Pro Tour Ranking Events, competitors can qualify for a place in the prestigious Capcom Cup Finals in America at the end of the year. In addition, winners of Street Fighter V at each event will be sent to the Capcom Pro Tour Asia Finals in South Korea; the winner of this CPT Premier event will earn a direct qualification to the Capcom Cup Finals! https://capcomprotour.com/capcom-pro-tour-2016-season-details/

We've grown from strength to strength over the year with BAM7 being the biggest BAM so far - with 628 registered attendees and a huge plethora of Smash internationals like two time EVO champ Mango, Leffen, Wife, Alex19, Hugs and former EVO champion Perfect Legend coming down to take the Mortal Kombat X crown.

The Melbourne community is proud to host a national platform for players across the country to come together and compete.We look forward to seeing all the players who had a great time at previous events and welcome new players and spectators to our amazing community.

As always there will be plenty of free-play and casual setups for players looking for practice or just for fun outside the tournament action. Of course, players will be hungry for glory and one of the iconic BAM boxing glove trophies.

Pre-registration is $40 venue entry, pre-registration will close on Sunday the 7th of May, and on the day entry will be $50.

Registration for Smash WiiU and Melee is pre-registration only. All other on-the-day registration for games must be done one hour before the game’s first pool starts. Street Fighter V and IV players, this means if you want to sign up on-the-day you must do so on FRIDAY.

If you wish to join the event as a spectator, you are more than welcome! It’s only $5 per day or $10 for all three days to take in the event.
