Harada "Currently Around 40 People Working on Tekken x Street Fighter"

Polygon recently posted a massive 18 page article interviewing various Japanese developers including Harada. Within the article he talks about all the multiple projects he's supervising and gives a small tidbit about the fate of the long delayed Tekken X Street Fighter assuring everyone it's still in production. However, it will still be a while until anything from that game is shown. Some quotes below but be sure to see the complete article for all the information.

Bandai Namco delayed the game because other fighting games had saturated the market, not because of development trouble, and that it specifically wanted to put some breathing room between the game and Street Fighter X Tekken to avoid player confusion. He says the game is still in development with around 40 people currently working on it (though some of those split their time with Tekken 7), but he also says that "Tekken 7 will be our big thing for the next while."

He says he's been spending "less and less" time on Tekken recently, because the team working on the series has enough experience to handle it on its own. But he says the team is aiming to make the game more accessible to newcomers compared to previous Tekken titles, and they are tying up a lot of character story threads to bring some closure for the series' 20th anniversary.

Actually, releasing this game after the initial wave of SF5 calms down (abut a year after) could be brilliant timing as people will have both T7 and SF5 in the back of their heads and looking for something fresh.

I just hope the game wont be goofy like the StreetFighter side of things. I want Harada's team to think about bringing out the serious fighting side of SF cast. A little humor is good but they tend of go over broad with that stuff "a lot". I also want them to give the StreetFighter cast a hefty move list to bring them up to par with the Tekken cast and not Nerf the Tekken chars. I can't help but think that Chung Li will be similar to Xiaoyu which will be okay if she's not spinning in circles.

They should delay TxSF until the PS5 releases. I feel like it's too late for this now because it will likely release after SF5 & T7 so I don't see TxSF getting too much playtime. I assume it will be played for about a month and then Tekken players will go back to T7 while any SF players that tried this will likely just go back to SF5.

We won't see this game until 2020. Atleast!

Lucky Chloe for Tekken x Street Fighter or riot.

I'm glad to hear the characters' storylines are reaching an end in Tekken 7. I want to see what happens to Yoshi and Bryan. What's that? Yoshi's not on the roster yet? That's right..."yet". The Yo-man has been in every Tekken game.

Also hoping to see something interesting happening to Steve. What's with Feng, though? Oscar wanted revenge because of what he did to her dad and his dojo. Now she's stuck with Lili being an animu joke?

Lili, GTFO. You're out of Lucky Chloe's league and you're getting old. Git classy or git rekt, m8.
