"Mr. Wizard: After Evo 2013, Tekken has tapered off in terms of hype and attendance at various events across the world.
source

- MasterCup 6 was attended by 750+ people.
- People got totally hyped for Global Championship 2013, especially when AK the little kid's performance suprised everybody. Quite sure some non-Tekken fans enjoyed that tournament too.
- Ultimate XV will be held soon
- Final Round 17,that will be exciting for sure
- Tekken Strike will probably continue soon with new a season.

so how did he come to the conclusion there has been a drop in terms of hype & attendance, across the world.?

but at this point it's better to look for ways to keep Tekken alive than to make rebuttals against Mr Wizard's statement.

People forget just how shafted TT2 got last evo. It was only between 2 and 4pm on Friday (the only game with no finals on Sunday?) and still had a 355man entrance. Tell you what, put injustice or Blazblue (lol characterban) on the 2 to 4pm Friday slot and see if they break 355. What pisses me of is that Evo is supposed to be for the people by the people but Mr Wizard is in Netherrealms pocket. P.S; does anybody see a correlation with the official lineup and what was voted forward on Eventhubs? http://www.eventhubs.com/news/2013/dec/16/poll-which-6-games-do-you-most-want-see-official-evo-2014-line/

Tekken wasn't alone. MK9, and SFxT finals couldn't be played on Sunday too.

I really think they started assuming when a new Tekken is out..less Tekken players will compete at Evo....because they were disappointed with the lack of T5DR players at Evo 2008..

"Tekken 5: Dark Resurrection - Again, not much to say about this game. The turnout was around 75 or so players, which was extremely low. But Tekken 6 is where the focus of the community lies now."

They used this excuse for not including Tekken 6 in 2012.

But why are they using the same excuse in 2014? Come on there isn't even a new big budget Tekken yet. And it's not likely Namco will release a new Tekken by July 2014. So how can TTT2 be considered outdated?
