Bogus Journeys: The Epic Conclusion

I can't believe people actually enjoy playing Tekken online. Big thanks to LUYG for causing me to have a heart attack trying to beat this Lei player.

Lol Skyrim not dependent upon differences of 1 frame.
Lol Tekken dependent upon differences of 1 frame.

Lag significantly more of a problem for one of the two. Guess which it is?

They don't seem to play online much. But the unsaid rule is that you DON'T THROW when your online because certain characters like kings have a very very strong advantage because its next to impossible to break throws.

the real unsaid rule is dont play online. certain characters have a very very strong advantage because its next to impossible to play online.

Targie, who said about difference of 1 frame? Did you see the video?

Aris recommends darksouls. Good man <3

Although Im wondering why youre having such trouble doing your combos online. Or more like, why all of you seem to find it problematic to do your staples online. Neither timing nor input is any different from playin in an arcade. Input comboes exactly like you would offline and theyll work 100% of the time. Even on a 1bar.
This is true for every combo thats not dependant on the first post-launch hit to hit at a specific time, if you react to your launcher hitting, you might screw things up cuz of the delay. But as soon as you got your opponent floating with whatever you hit him after the launch, its just dialing down the combo as usual. It would even work with a 10 second delay from input to screen-visuals.

"They don't seem to play online much. But the unsaid rule is that you DON'T THROW when your online because certain characters like kings have a very very strong advantage because its next to impossible to break throws."

Which is absolutely dumb cause then the balance is just shifted towards which characters have the better low attacks in order to break guard and doesn't solve a god damn thing. So the online community made a hidden, unspoken, addendum to that rule which would be that both players should be attacking constantly and at any given time otherwise you're "boring" further pushing the game away from the spacing and movement game that Tekken really is.

Then they went partying with the Illuminati.

About dropping combos online, there's always a factor where the game jitters right when you are pressing your button so it wont register, or for characters like Lei where there are a lot of visually seeing the character move off-axis so you need to adjust your bind or mess with the timing, it's very easy to drop combos. Especially when the delay of the input is fluctuating, you can't always rely on doing the combo exactly the way you would offline.

For the throws, they are lucky enough to get Aris playing online at all, so trying to get Aris to follow these "unwritten rules" is definitely pushing it. Regardless, I was entertained fully, even though online is bullshit and Aris hates this show, it doesn't mean we can't enjoy watching other people suffer.

@Watafag.
Yeah but my point is that the lag in Skyrim (Whilst absolutely fucking horrendous) doesn't affect the overall outcome to the degree that even marginal lag in Tekken does, Primarily due to the difference 1 frame makes in Tekken compared to what it makes in Skyrim. Basically even with the lag Skyrim is still playable the same way it would be without the lag.

@Schematic

No throws. No Lows. No Walls. No Pauls. Hidden Retreat Only.
Let's go!!!!

Love playing games where you can just play the game competitvely. Hate playing games where outside rules need to be enforced in order to do so.
There's enough competitvely viable games out there that you don't need to make up your own rules to play a butchered version of this one.

gotta agree with you guys.. I love Tekken, and I love to play actual people.. but I CANNOT play it online simply because of the lag I get, no matter where I play or what kind of connection I have... The only way to win online is to SPAM and not even TRY to block. its just not the same game or worth it

How do you even play AK without throws?

You don't.

Aris kicks ass online...best bogus journeys ever. The hell with those so called rules for online. Everyone follows one true rule which is win at all and every cost(lagging, spamming, mashing, boosting, turbo, mods, glitches etc. lol)

As much as I like(d) T6, I found online to be absolute shit with this game. I would still try to play online and 90% of the time i would lose to outside factors(primarily lag). And yes everyone talked salty shit regardless if i won or lost (I got mostly Canadian players here in the East coast). I'm decent online player now, but i know its just an illusion, as offline/arcade "feels different". Fuck T6 online. I say good riddance and wait for a better experience with TTT2. Hopefully that wont crap out causing me to give up gaming on consoles and all together. We shall see...

Sorry rip but you are fucking annoying on this series.... but kinda suitable due to how bullshit tekken is online.

Dark soul's is fucking awesome btw. Skyrim is kinda shitty after you get deep into the game realize they didn't fix shit since oblivion and it gets real bland, but hey I have a PC and mod's will fix it... =P

Aris offically the best online player in the world. Which is pretty damned gay actually.

@testicle:
I see your point, but the comboes we are seeing dropped in those bogus journeys episodes usually arent that complex. Like the 3 aris episodes, there have barely been any off axis/sidewalls-issues. But Ive seen him drop really easy comboes that arent influenced by those factors you name and Im just really curious why it is like that. Simply because he feels so uncomfortable playing online that it makes him fuck up stuff? In the other episodes you can see all of them fucking up backdashes regularly which Ive never seen em do in lets say, ewgfridays. Basically how I, or anyone else for that matter, plays when being nervous.
I rarely play online, but if I fuck up my shit, then its always me, not the fact that Im playing online that very moment. Altho I tend to not accept anything below 4-bars.
Which is another thing Id like to mention because of the infamous "Online Tekken isnt Tekken" we keep hearing whenever Aris is around. Hes really being biased, just like the rest of the cast. You dont accept matches vs random scrubs at 2 bars and then complain about how shitty online is, it just doesnt make any sense.
Play a decent player with a 4/5-bar and youll have a decent, laggfree match. Yes, youll always have some base-delay, but that doesnt break the game.
Im not a fan of online, but I really hate to see such biased opinions spreading in this show. Idk who it was, someone said you cant break throws online. That wcg-champ broke alot of Aris grabs and that on a laggy 3-bar connection, if its not possible, how the hell did he do it?

With those shows you guys are doing a great job for the tekken community, but I could Imagine your attitue driving away new players. If Id show those vids to some friends, theyd listen to all that "online tekken isnt tekken", "online tekken is broken" crap which might stop them from buying the game and eventually becoming an offline regular some day. Just saying.

Hey guys, here is my valuable opinion:
- Online is decent if you're smart enough to not accept 1-3 bars
- Seems like they accept shitty pings on purpose
- Thus show is shit anyways
- Rip is a fag
Thanks for your attention.
