@Reality also WHO really plays ranked matches if you are talking about online records in T6 to prove skill LOL. Linux or anyone with sense doesn't it's comes from PLAYER MATCH obviously and in the vid to clarify it's a player match.

Yawn....lol Just woke up and I still see Linux_theFallen and Causeless Rebel still talking shit. Ill start off with you Linux, who thinks he can body everyone bc hes an online warrior. Well you put out the challenge. So lets see it. Your problem is that you say comments without even thinking. Your exposing yourself. And judjing from that Youtube link,I must say that your Bryan is pretty weak. And you Causeless Rebel, As far as moving to Zambia, wherever that is, I could care less. Im here in New York living it up. And I remember when the original Tekken Zaibatsu 2.0 was online back then in 99'' or so when it had the Black backround and T3 Jin was on the front page. You can't say shit to me fool. Old man syndrome....lol Im only 27, Yes I have a career, and I have been with this series since day 1 supporting it and have seen it grow into a phenomenon over the years. Can you say that? NO So with that said keep your mouth shut. I will end this endless debate with a "Fuck You" and have a nice day!

You must be confused Spriggs (is that code for phoenix boyfriend?). i'm not talking about online playing proving any skill level whatsoever - you are. So what's the problem? Go to Evo or a major and prove it couchwarrior, what's the problem?

Also, speaking of mad you online warriors are hella defensive seeing a single clip of a new YT show acting like it's an attack on your very character and being. Tense much? Can't distance yourself? Does it hurt you so much when people say that tekken online isn't the same as real tekken? Cause it isn't. You can go onto TZ and fight it out there for your "pride" - you'll get blown up. You see there are people who know offline tekken AND online tekken stating their opinions. You? You're just the frog in the well that doesn't know the sea. Meanwhile Rip will be in korea playing in Tekkencrash and/or Evo, making throwtrainers, iphone apps, having his own website and regulary playing real people. But yeah, he doesn't contribute to the community - we need couchwarriors who can't be bothered to leave their moms basement for that.

You wouldn't be a star if you were thrown by a ninja chump.

Not a fan of online fighters and not really a fan of the excellent adventures, but i am a huge fucking fan of any show based on such a shitty netcode.

Tekken is not an online fighter. It just has a terrible online mode and net code. But apparently some people here feel that online is the way to progress skill wise.

I like this commentary page so much, I want it as "Legendary/Epic thread", if there was ever one. LUYG bringing on the hate! I love you guys. RIP, will you be taking match requests on your show, or will you go about the random route with match finder?

Well, I don't think online play is very good at all, but I did play online Tekken alot (Highest ranked Julia on XBL before boosters). The problem with online play is the inconsistency of connections, even on 4 or 5 bars, that shit was still laggy. I'm an arcade player, I'm used to quick movement and reactions over predicting and guessing in online play. I like playing online because it helped me to learn all of the bullshit moves that people like to abuse online, only to look them up for myself and find out they are actually bad moves. I did gain a lot of random experience online, but none of it really helped me play better. I mostly learned frame data and character moves through online.

Now, I won't go as far as saying all online players are shitty or anything, because there are some good players. I have actually met up with a few online players and played them offline before. I will say this, though, they played better ONLINE. Playing them offline was interesting because now the game changed in my favor and it was easy to beat them because they couldn't break throws, block certain moves, etc. One of them even said that he couldn't adjust to offline because the timing was different.

Anyways, there are good players, but I think that playing online doesn't help in making you a better player, it just makes you more knowledgeable. I, personally, only play arcade now, because online is pretty BS. I always try to encourage the online players to find a community around them, though. I have made a lot of good friends online. I have also met a lot of retards and ignorant people, but that's besides the point. lol

tekken scene sucks anyways who cares

albeit this guy is clearly wrong as aris, myk, rip etc keep attempting to give back to the scene. whatever you guys do the scene is as close to dead as it was when t4 was on its way out so at the end of the day all you can say is "whatevs"

"whatevs"

and 'linux' have no doubt in your mind that when ttt2 is released these same people who you are trashing right now will be the ones making instructional videos and helping you 'get your game on' (is that rips site?) on the forums. don't shit where you eat man.

Rip's contributions(with LUYG crews' included):
- Throw Break Trainer
- LUYG iPhone app
- LUYG for Android
- LUYG... 9 episodes so far I think...each episode ranges from 1-2 hours (and there's a Marvel vs Capcom 3 episode too)
- Keeping us up with Tekken news + from other games
- and I have left out some.. I can't remember all.

Aris' (with ATP crew) :
- keeping us up with Tekken News...and from other games as well
- podcasts....23 episodes so far
- weekly T6 live stream
- translated frame data for all chars from inatekken
- wrote a few guides for MK9
- and again I probably forgot some

MYK's:
- T6.0 & T6BR Char Ranking List
- podcasts..ATP and MYK's Tekken Time
- contributed to LUYG episodes
- wrote a few guides for IamTekken (it's still there, you just have to add wordpress on the url)
- probably a Steve FAQ... I forgot
- etc

My point is, I appreciate what they are doing right now and what they've done in the past....
Even if some of the stuff they do, aren't produced as consistent as I want..

For example...I want to see a new ATP podcast, every week...
But since they are free, I won't complain....

Yeah, I like the comments about Aris not giving back, what is this site again? Who basically pulls together weeklies that are streamed from Super so that the Tekken community can watch and learn?

I don't know why am I compelled to enter a discussion like this but anyway:

For people whose only alternative (FOR WHATEVER REASONS) is to play online, they then don't need to adjust to the offline play since thy will mostly never do it, also comparing the skills of those two realms is pointless, because they have different rules when it comes to measuring skill (i don't know if i heard wrong but some say that playing in an arcade and on the console offline is also a different, but not that much, experience when it comes to timing and stuff.)

The principle is this, you should go and play where there is more variety and skill, because it is all about playing the game with people If you have a good bunch of people willing to play tekken offline, then you should play more offline. (or even have a rival, that is probably the best way to level up your skill since your opponent will try to deversify it's play in order to beat you, and so will you).

But what is the point of being good offline when you simply don't have any offline comunity, or when you are in some godforsaken country and your frieands live in different cities, then online is your only option, if you love the game that much.

Both sides need to understand this and both sides need to stop comparing to each other since there is nothing to compare, online play is online play dependant more on the planing/predicting and adjusting to the lag, while offline play is more about reaction (but predicting is also pretty important) and you will find more dicks online since not many have the balls to be one then you meet them face to face.

It tekken 6 online and ofline are two different worlds and should be treated like so, comparing the top/main players and stuff between them is redundant, because in order to really measure the skill between the players of that world a game should be played in both 'home' and 'away' tearms. But the problem arises mostly from online players that are buthurt that they way of playing isn't pro-stream (the way most/all pros do it) or feel the need to show they online skill in the offline environment, but also from the offline players that bring they own offline rules and prejudices in the online world.

And to be honest I think that even many people offline break throws rather from anticipation than the reaction, but i might be wrong, but being able to see if the left or right hand is infront or both of them in such little time frame is very very hard. It would be awesome if some of the arcade players (Aris, Rip etc) would be kind to explain the way the see throws and throw breakes.

Also commentating MLG for instance in a professional way (Rip) and a shitload of streams (Aris which he's done for free for all I know). Aris for instance having interactions with Harada (groundbreaking!) and having him on podcast and really cementing players need for a trainingmode etc... It's so fucking dumb to attack these guys for "not doing anything for the community". The question back is simply; Who the fuck is doing more right now then?

Friday, September 9, 2011 at 1:21 AM | Unregistered CommenterReality

It concerns me that some of you guys(mature adults) are so easily baited into this dumb neverending online vs offline debate.....and lol at anyone would take me serious if I said Aris and Rip do nothing for the community....smh
