Comprehensive Tekken Thread on NeoGAF
AAK has put together a very comprehensive thread on NeoGAF which contains just about all the TTT2 info you need. The thread also includes scans of the move lists which were included in the latest issue of Arcadia Magazine Check out the thread HERE.
- Pricing is as Follows:
i. Delux Cab: 4,180,000 yen
ii. Delux Kit: 2,380,000 yen
iii. PCB: 698,000 yen
- Tournament 2 is the first game machine by Namco Bandai that connects to a network world wide. To maximize the machine and the network connection performance, a "Live Monitor" is used in conjunction with the machines, allowing each country or region access to the top 20 players customized data that can be researched and compared at any time.
- You must have internet connection for this game to work (the game cannot work offline)
- You must have the game board charged via prepaid cards, ie, you buy charge cards which add "points" to your game board. Each time a player using the machine, 5 points are deducted. If your game board has zero points, the game stops working. The concept is that weekly/monthly live updates are given to the game board introducing new characters, venues, combo moves and more. These updates occur automatically without the need for the game owner to manually update their machines.
As far as an Arcade release in America is concerned, it’s looking very unlikely and TTT2 (arcade version) may very well be an Asia exclusive. However, Namco is looking at a potential sale of TTT2 in the USA with location tests happening in October in California/Texas/New York. And everyone is assuming that it will be tested at Round1 Arcade in Southern California, Arcade UFO in Austin Texas, and Next Level Arcade in New York. So if you live around that area, be sure to support them!

Good stuff. But, im assuming that Texas location test will be at planet zero or at the galleria (well, more like hoping, since I live in houston).
I think Dave & Busters needs to get TTT 2 for a location Test!
OMG NEW YORK. I'll be there!!!!!!!!
Dallas or Houston would be better for most Texas players
Would it be possible to ship out those American test cabs with Korean joysticks installed? I imagine that a new, different style joystick along with lots of wave-dashing and dash-tricking as performed by veterans like myself could potentially be attractive new players or casual onlookers. As it stands, not very many people flock to Tekken cabinets; perhaps this would give them a reason. Discuss.
^ Not veteran enough if you need a Korean stick to do that.
^ there's a huge difference between korean and jap sticks. it's not about being veteran, it's about what you're used to
That's an amazing post, I learned a lot. Glad to see there's a lot more sophistication to the tagging system now compared to TTT1. That charge and play system sounds a bit dodgy for arcade operators though. Are they starting to get arrogant with their arcades now the way I've heard Sega did with VF in Japan when it was dominant. That didn't work out too well for Sega with the VF5 series.
Im interested to see just what they might be adding to the game to compensate the arcades though. Balance changes, outfits, items, stages and even more characters? The console version should be far superior for the wait. That's what SCV is missing out on by going straight to console, though I've heard them say they wanna do an SCV arcade edition later (with a console update?).
What happened to Rip in that picture? Did he swallow his pad when he was trying to kiss it? Never would've happened with an arcade stick.
Thanks for the compliments and recognition Aris :) Let's hope we can all get more people interested in the series
