lol - I LOVE how Linux_thefallen comes on LevelUpYourGame's channel and the AvoidingThePuddle website to tell Aris and myself that we aren't doing anything for the community. If you want to challenge people, fly out to SOCAL - and MM 5 of our top players - ft10 for $100 each person - That should more than cover your flight + hotel if you can win right? I'll back anyone who cant front themselves - Myself, MYK, Kane, Aris, and JustFrameJames - Come prove how good online has made you.

If thats too steep for you, I can line up 7 guys, ft10 for $50 each - That should cover your flight. Myself, MYK, Kane, Aris, JFJ, ChetChetty, Suiken

Aris has a weekly stream - and I'm sure the internet would love to see you beat all of us.

---

But uh yea, if you guys have suggestions / criticisms about the show itself and not just online vs offline, please comment at levelupyourgame.com so I dont have to check both, thanks

Linux why are you so mad? The idea to do this show is great , I cant remember the last time a topic on this site has received some many responses. I can't wait till they get Aris on there now that's gonna be a show! Anyway relax with all the hate I mean we all play and enjoy the same game and then you have to come on here with your negative bullshit- grow up. Who are you anyway? ...wait I know who you are lol.

RIP don't bother with this fool when you see him play you'll know exactly what I mean. Linux I really hope you have improved since then because damn!

ONLINE WARRIOR!!!! but seriously, good sh*t Rip. You guys should host a room and challenge all of the Online Butthurts so that they can abuse online tactics THEN invite them to SoCal, it'll boost their confidence....

I completely agree with Linux. I live in The UK in the middle of nowhere and I have no-one to fight online. Regardless, I have tried my damn hardest to learn what I'm supposed to learn and not the bad tactics that online can so easily sway you into. If I had the opportunity to put that time into offline instead, yes, I may be better then I am now. But damn it, I can EWGF with above 66% consistency online, I can Wavedash and almost Lightdash, I can hit-confirm, I can punish, I can Backdash Cancel, and I can hold out my own if I went to Tekken Force.

Did you know that in July's Tekken Force Tournament, an online player got second?

Talking about the video, I am certain that over time, all 4 of them could get used to the lag. I can punish all the time, and I can block sweeps on reaction. It was damn funny regardless.

But looking back at Linux's Comments, I disagree that Rip, Aris and the others aren't doing anything for the community.

I love the comments. I really do. RIPS a legend (kick)

I am looking to see more of bogus journeys this is the entertainment I need. I am sure you guys are gona mix it up and not use your mains right??? I wana see Zafina in action for pure entertainment.

Its no fun watching you guys body the world. Just saying. Special guests and stuff could also be fun.

Thanks guys much appreciated. I am scared to go online now..... lol.

"I LOVE how Linux_thefallen comes on LevelUpYourGame's channel and the AvoidingThePuddle website to tell Aris and myself that we aren't doing anything for the community" that's exactly what I thought LOL. If it wasn't for your effort I wouldn't even know about tekken so thank you very much guys!

How come BR netcode is horrible? Sure, there will always be ping that you should get used to, but it's nowhere near unplayable. What fighting game has better netcode?
And Linux's Bryan was pretty cool.

i dont get it why there is so much hate for online play
i dont know how shitty the internet is in the USA but if i play in germany against a friend on 5 bars
i can throw break punish -10 stuff and block some lows on reaction
(NOT all the time of curse not! even korean players cant do that all the time!!!)

even on tournament you run in lilis sweep but complain about the online game
(ttt2 sweep is CH now so there is a reason why!)

USA has bad arcade germany has NO arcade so if i want to have fun with tekken i have to play online.

and always play against the same 5 people would get me bored after a time...

i think if tekken in this time has NO online part it would die more then you can imagine

ps: if you play 2 bars and you complain then i can just shake my head ...
but like i said in my first post it was much fun to watch :D

Just cause you offline people hate online play means you have hate the people that play offline too? it seriously seemes that way, like it affects some of you so much you start hating other stuff too.

Im 100% sure MYK and the others would be able to play online in no time, just takes a little getting used to for offline players.
it's not all THAT bad, 4-5 bars is is actually pretty good. And i know most online players arent really good but there are some that really do know how to play and do good offline awell.

(and i play more offline btw)

To me this Bogus is not that interesting since i really can't learn anything from this, and while the EWGF-days have that 'arcade in your home' feeling trough videos I can actually learn and get some ideas on how to use characters also it helps me to understand when should i use those moves, since more often then not the players in the arcade are playing seriously. Doing a recap in online warrior style (where you comment on the online opponent game and provide insights and suggestions) would add to the value. Also the LUYG doesn't need to be just about single characters, it can be about some highlight maches from EVO or other places that deserve to be looked into and deserve deeper analysis, explaining how one should play the characters trough actual matches and not just trough character demonstration (even trough the LUYG is really good at teaching about the punishers, ideas and what not actually they might be one of the best tekken tutorials on the net.)

Also since I am writing about EWGF-days the only thing that i would like to see more is an actually good commentary since I am very sure that Aris and the gang are pretty competent when it comes to that, because they know allot more then I do and they can bring something crucial to the attention that I might have missed. Also (but that is not something that can be requested) a bigger character variety would be cool....

Also I would suggest and add-on to the EWGF-days called something like EWGF-days Highlights. Where aris and some other commentary (or a guest commentary that knows that character) will pick 3-5 maches that for them seemed important (or fun or whatever) and try to comment them and analyze them in a separate video.

I hope all this helps somewhat, keep up the work :)

If Im in SoCal have your money ready Rip, I still respect you highly but This shit is about more than money, and notoriety it's about respect. I'll see u when I see u

Oh Linux....

God I wana see this match bad....please record this...

Thursday, September 8, 2011 at 5:08 AM | Unregistered CommenterPuNkMAFIA

Linux vs Socal is something I would actually would look forward to see just like Gootecks and Mike Ross's Revival of Bar Fights online Invitational to online players EXCEPT with the Tekken Community its just hate towards online players that have some actually good players but have no scene. I thought the FGC was about growth as a whole no matter what game you played but I guess there are a good amount of FLAWS when it comes to tekken huh?

I respect the ATP streams each friday but theres no real commentary when it comes to the actual matches...

I respect the LUYG episodes but their not going to cover every character based of the little knowledge the have which they can check in the TZ forums or take time and learn the character themselves

I respected GOSU tekken for the korean matches but a good amount of the time when RIP and Aris do commentary they dont take the time and prepare good commentary so new people starting tekken can understand the matchup from both character's perspective

I respect the VGF podcast to fill up what LUYG didnt cover BUT most of the underated characters they covered like jin, bruce, and marduk they dont have enough knowledge because they once again dont check forums or the players cant get their stuff together.

Funny cuz when I look at the Capom side of the Community i see little to no flaws in terms of legit, RELIABLE, informative, and entertaining content they produce.

These are the thing I think about the FGC as a whole as I go through life. Heres hoping for the best when console TTT2 drops.

P.S. I have full confidence that linux does well

Watches http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qR5qv2tcQ4k again

You know that those 10 or so random whiffs and duck / 1p game gets you killed offline right? Wonder why you get hit @00.19 for instance? Cause you can't backdash cancel or move worth shit. Hate to break it to you but you're mediocre if even that. I know that might be a tough pill for you to swallow since you think your onlinerecords matter and makes you feel good about yourself. You challenging players like Rip cause you're delusional IS the biggest problem with online play - not its netcode.

Hugs

@Infamous your are a fucking prick, wasnt even talking to you, you claim u been playing Tekken for 10 years? ur only telling me how fucking old u really are you should be at work trying to feed the kids rather than butting into shit that dosent concern you. if u aint got any contructive criticism for me then stfu, All the top players you mention are american thats just evidence how thick you are, seem to think America is the only place in the world. How can you say online play dosent help the community?? well maybe you should move down to Zambia and let me know how you get your daily tekken fix. believe it or not tekken 6 online strengthens the community, I can use myself as a good example, I have only ever played tekken online and in other to get better over the years I have ended up on sites like ATP, LUYG, SD tekken and the old Iamtekken website (which gave me my first ever insight into frames) if T6 dint have online play, i would have just played story mode, played vs mode with the only 3 people i know that can play and then thats it bye bye tekken, but thank God for online cos now i can play with legit players that kick my ass and make wanna learn more. so you need to come up with real facts before you run your fat geriatric mouth

I aint beefing the LUYG guys infact I really appreciate your work and i'm a huge fan, its just that you guys always give the impression that online play is like the plague and all players online suck, Online is very much playable, you can do your juggles, punishes, throw breaks, wave dash etc everything works just the timing is a little different. All you need to do is avoid any connection lower than 4 bars and if you want to play legit players filter the search by rank. Once again Thanks for all the hard work and effort in the community but stop making it seem like online play is impossible

Thursday, September 8, 2011 at 6:53 AM | Unregistered CommenterCauselessRebel

The way I see it: Online Tekken is like playing Poker without stakes. Sure they both are playable to an extent, but the nature of the games become completely different than what is intended.
