iWR moves are way too difficult to do consistently!

Why the thell did they make a game that is so hard to do execution-wise??

This is Tekkens major problem, it has disappeared up it's own ass, and evolved into a sort of 'serious only' affair.
I tried the fucking demo of TTT2 and, my god, the complexity of the tag-system, the juggles, the netsu, the red lifebar is way way waaaayyyy to complex for the casuals, thus killing Tekken as a series.

Nobody want to invest years of their life and still not be able to enjoy a game to it's potential. In my whole country there are probably 2-3 people who can break throws regularly or do the backdashcancel... what the hell is that all about? No wonder Tekken is dying and people hating it..!!

@jackoff

Listen man, just look at that link -it wasn't me who started that thread. In fact I stood up for Tekken, but it seems to like more and more people have had enough of how hard Tekken has become to enjoy. It is going the same way as Virtua Fighter. A great game but way to deep and complex.

Remember, the tag system with it's intricacies of netsu, lifebar, tag-assault etc tec, comes in addition to basically learning all the 43+ characters with 150+ moves each and a rock-papir-scissor type of attacks you have to memorize to know where to duck or sidewalk to interrupt, and also those hopkicks that makes no sense. Even movement like backdashcancel and sidewalkcancel that is so important in this game is near impossible to do for most people playing Tekken. Then there is those iws and iwr moves you need to do consistently. Then you have the grabs witch only a fraction of poeople playing Tekken are able to break and there you have the complete crazy chaos that Tekken has become.

Way to much work for most people to do before you can enjoy the game at even intermediate level. Namco need to slow down!

DrBhup

Why the fuck are you even here? Every time I see a post from you it's complaining about this. Some of us happen to like Tekken BECAUSE it's technical.

Go play something else if you can't handle it. Oh, and just because the majority of american's don't like it and are capcom fagboi's by no means prove that tekken is dying....

I am sure TTT2 will do fine with or without you. (or america for that matter)

great vid aris, perfect explanation..

@DrBhup - you are totally the person who started that thread.

@ whoever

My point is; even I complain, I still love Tekken. But it has bacome a 'elite only' kind of game and the amount of people playing Tekken is very very small in comparison to other fighting games.

Too few poeople are willing to invest this much time and energy in a game this complex. It's almost impossible to get new people to play T6 becuase there is way to much things to learn. Only old-school people who have been with Tekken fo9r 10 years are playing it at somewhat ok level. Rest is just n00bs and will be forever!

Fuck you!!

personally I think bound is the coolest WOW factor to come to the series in ages and it's what won me over aesthetics-wise

I think tekken has struck a kind of balance with flash (bound) and technical stuff (40+ characters...mind blown)

I do hope they keep expanding the roster cause imagine 100 chars TTT5 or some shit like that

but Dr has a point...it's intimidating for a newcomer...I've personally known one friend who didn't want to learn it b/c of how freakin hard it is to learn but he's willing to learn KOF...which is just as difficult in its own way so hmm...

Dr Bhup if you think that Tekken is hard executionwise you really are living in a bubble cause it's not. Don't get me wrong there are hard combos (pick another character) and so on but you should try 2d fighters to learn what hard execution etc really is. To be honest it simply sounds like fightinggames are not for you. Also I think people shouldn't confuse a game of having a big roster and a game being technical cause it's really not the same thing. In general your scene has a few players in it overall and learning how to counter those characters shouldn't be a problem. There are also some general rules to learn like hopkick being -12 and learning how to spot a staggerblock low and what that means. The changes from even T5 to TT2 movewise aren't that big either.

In general, people are fucking lazy. Specially in the fightinggame community. I'm sorry but if you've been a part of another scene you know it's right. There are two types of players; those who try to adapt themselves to a game and those who cry about the game not adapting to them. Nothing good will ever come from you trying to make a game adapt to you cause it's not going to happen. If you want quick, easy, enjoyment without ever needing to practice on your game find something else to play. That or accept that you're playing casually and don't get your panties in a mess over losses.

I've said this once and I'll say it a thousand times. Don't bitch about Tekken's movement because you suck ( and you spent money). That's like me bitching that I can't bat like Barry Bonds after buying an expensive bat and a dvd. Practice!! If you don't want to put in the paltry 2-3 nights of practice/ decent match play, stfu about it then. If you feel so compelled as to not buy the next iteration of Tekken....even better.

the truth is dr humpy that people with the best movement and perfect execution lose to people who arent on their level all the time. killerdoll vs jdcr is a perfect example . besides what pros dont want u to know is how u get better isnt by practice. it just by playing every chance u get.you cant drop it then pick it back up . why are u so good knee oh i hate this game and play once a month no that mother fucker play more than anyone

@ Reality

I know that a huge roster doesn't mean the game is difficult execution-wise. Tekken has both difficult execution on basic stuff like movement AND a huge roster that just complicates things even more. A huge roster means even more strings to memorize, even more setups to be aware of, even more random attacks that could ruin your round etc etc etc. Tekken is a mess. A lovely mess though.
