Dayum!!!
as impressive as the combos in ttt2 are, it's really lame that the opp has to spend so much time being idle. it doesn't matter if you're the best in the world, everyone gets juggled, and having to wait forever before being able to resume play is going to get so frustrating
I somewhat agree with David. In T6 playing against characters that has long combos is pretty annoying. And seems like you'll have to wait even longer for opponent to finish combo in TTT2.

You should read this thread guys
watching tekken tag 2 characters doing braindead ttt combos would be boring.
tekken tag 2 is so much more fresh. room for creativity is limitless in this game
knee awesome as usual
A BEAUTY TO SEE MISHIMA REVITALIZED
What creativity Rio? We all know that once the game launches you're still going to be doign the same 2 combos over and over again. (or 3). 1 for oki, 1 for wall carry. 1 for damage when there's no wall, even though you'd go for oki then, so yeah 2 combos as in any tekken game to date. Creativity is for combo vids, got nothing to do with playing the actual game.
^ sad but true
Actually there is hugeload of combos you have to do, not just 3... In every situation where wall is there and this and this angle you can and have to do different combos in high level play to maximize the damage or oki. Some situation need you to to the hardest and the most damagin juggles so it will kill opponent and not leave him in rage. In tournaments there is no first to ten matches and in first to three you wanna do different style oki juggles so opponent doesent even know what is the situation he is at... So actually you do huge amount of different combos, not just 3.
Guys, basically the more effort a person has put into this game the more they will defend it. Killerdoll, he is saying that most players will use one combo for damage and one for oki on a no wall stage (even though there are more creative options for less damage - Xiayou the best example I think?). And while you do have to vary a combo to wall carry, when you get to the wall you almost always do the same wall combo anyway???
Anyway, the real reason people don't like Tekken lately is because it is becoming so elite. It's complexity is verging on VF and people don't want to put that much effort into a game. Seriously, read the link posted earlier.
For me DR was the best game. Movement was much easier, and much more free. With the movement in the T6 engine your char moves like a bag of potatoes unless you put in a ton of effort. And even koreans are much slower when it comes to movement compared to DR.
As a result you are now FORCED to eat a lot more 50/50's in comparison. This doesn't make the game "easier to master" - which a lot of people were complaining about at the beginning of T6. But in fact youre forced to know the matchups much better than before, since you can't just space out of 60% of the moves. This makes the game take more skill, and ofc. movement alone takes a lot more skill now.
I suppose that's where my problem is at, as I don't have the time to put in as much effort as some people do.
And I fully understand why the players who can spend 4 hours a day defends the game so much. I can imagine how much joy it must give one to become great since it's so extremely difficult.
As for juggles I take your point KD. But if the opponent knows the matchup he WILL know whats going on - unless what you're doing is something you invented and have never used in a match that's been put on youtube. Cuz KD, we all watch your vids, and youre extremely talented, but that also means people know a lot of your shit if they have studied your vids a lot. Ofc. they won't know anything in comparison to your daily sparring partners.
Tox: if you are a veteran in the tekken series you will understand that there are Alot more combo varieties you will have commit to muscle memory then just 2-3( for ttt2). A veteran tekken player will have grasped the distance from one end to the other end of the stage and will modify the combos accordingly. A unique tag assist combo 15 feet away from the wall, another combo 13 feet away from the wall, another 9 feet from the wall etc. It can be intimidating to take onto this task but the beauty is it is VERY possible to master this skill as long as you put enough time and effort. And to watch some of these combos unveiled is speechless. Ive seen one combo where tag assist happened 3-4 times for a single combo. Some characters have the ability to move to the other side of the screen during the middle of combo as well. I would have to agree with you on the movement for 6. Cmpared to DR/tag harder to move in 6
Skeering: The elite nature of this game is specifically the reason why some players are drawn into this game in the first place.
On another note: I am very glad this game is more about skills and less about rage bull. I mean there is rage but typically if you have 5 seconds left and you have a full bar and your opponent has 10% health left its pretty safe to say the person who is about to loose will indeed lose. Mainly bcz rage is timed. In 6 this was entirely not the case.
Yes I almost agree with everything you say. The elite nature is certainly why a lot of players are drawn onto the game. However, it is also the reason why MOST players are not drawn into the game.
Yes I certainly know about wall distance etc. But imo its not a very large adjustment for the juggle. If you play tekken with a sparring partner for a year you will certainly have grasped the concept for the character you play. The difficulty in adjusting your juggles varies from character to character. With lee i don't feel any difference at all, just means the difference between making 3 or 5 b+2's in my combo. It was very easy in t6 (and dr for that matter, even though the juggler filler was different ). I can imagine it being harder in ttt2 due to tag combos and what not.
I have learned to live with the "rage" addition, though i still feel it was totally unnecessary and that the game would have been much better off without it (or any of its variations).
Only thing that bugs me is the movement, otherwise I have enjoyed tekken 6 and probably also will with ttt2. I just still can't help but feel restricted compared to playing DR. Again only due to movement. Its even harder for me to comprehend these changes when they have added more longrange attacks.
Wow. Can't Tekken just get away with being Tekken. AVP has become a playground for people bitching about movement no matter what the post is related to.
