A Look at Heihachi's Character Design

Now that we have an idea of what direction they are going with Heihachi's character design in TTT2, I thought it might be a good time to take a trip down memory lane and see how this character ended up with the gay mustache that he's sporting these days.
I've always been a fan of Heihachi's character design because to me it screams Tekken. In every game, he always looks fucking pissed off and mean as hell. I was taking a close look at the footage of Heihachi in TTT2 and he seems a bit out of character. I understand that this "young" Heihachi is actually younger then any Heihachi that has ever been in a Tekken game, but still. My only theory as to why he seems so happy in the video is that he hasn't had kids yet. I mean after having an asshole kid like Kazuya, I'd lose my hair and frown all day long too. Personally, I prefer the older, angrier Heihachi. The new heihachi looks like a cartoon character. But who knows, maybe his character design will change again over the next few months. What do you guys think?

Having a kid would piss anyone off. If you learn anything from this article it should be to use birth control and have safe sex. I think that's what Aris was trying to say.
they should give hei some new coats. his old ones were bad ass
The TTT2 look has not really appealed to me yet. I think they need to make him fill out his upper lip with hair and that is all that would be needed to give him that iconic look again.

well, the game IS non-canon, which means namco can do whatever the fuck they want.
lets hope they add a more extensive character customisation, which would let us get the costumes from previous tekkens.
Tekken 3 hei was awesome looking, and him in his stage was really frightening - a pissed old man radiating electricity inside an ogre's temple
Old Heihachi is definitely and infinitely more badass but I'm kinda liking this younger one already. He seems to be closer to what Kazuya was/is. A smug (and invincible) bastard. I wonder how his 4~3 will work. Will they make it especially strong or something because Hei has been hurting his back with it for years now.. :{D
Has Namco announced it to be non-canon already? I haven't heard much. And I don't really want to assume it to be non-canon just cause ttt1 is non-canon, even though odds are it is. We really can't tell too much what namco has planned.

Heihachi is badass. His Tekken 3 design is my all time favorite. The one when hes in the trenchcoat brings back so many memories
Well Heihachi is the most POTENT fightinggame character of all time, this is something we have to remember! He fucked forward Lars, high as a kite, during the 80's listening to Abba backstage at a concert and he only spawns sons every time - most which we don't know about. Since Namco already had given his eyebrows and hair an erection I think they only found it fitting that in his earlier years his actually mustasch also had one.
Maybe they'll find an african son in the Jungle for Tekkentag2 named Mutombo; we'll have to wait and see.
This reminds me of T1-T2 Kazuya as well...
Something about this Heihachi reminds of Kazuya's T2 ending.
It's the smirk maybe..
I guess he'll be more energetic, look less bitter( his wrinkles, gray hair, baldness, made him look meaner).... yet still be the same asshole.
Apart from that gay assed hair and mustache, I like the new Heihachi. Looks more cocky and smug than the usual bad assed angry old guy.
Imagine he does every move in his move list with that smug face of his.

After thinking about this I think the main issue is that when you look at games from T1 to T6, you see that Heihachi's body structure as a whole has been evolving continuosly over the years (and I'm not talking about the number of polygons!). But now we see the TTT2 version of him which is supposed to be decades younger than T6 Heihachi, and he literally looks the same except his head has been changed. They should at least make him less muscular or something and change his outfit to something we haven't seen before.
