DOUBLE CUP MASTERCUP W1 CLIMAX2014 Announced

DOUBLE CUP is the next newly announced tournament that MASTERCUP is going to be organising this year in the Hokuriku region of Japan. The tournament has a hefty name so everybody will just abbreviate this tournament to "W杯" - W CUP (get it? W sounds like 'daburu.') Anyways, the tournament will be a 3on3 team format tournament with an initial cap of 42 teams totaling 126 players. Its going to be held inside Hokuriki's Bypass Leisureland Arcade on the 20th of July this year and given it's location, Double Cup may not be streamed. Like all other Mastercup tournaments though, the official YouTube channel will surely be uploading match videos from Double Cup so you can at least look forward to that. If there's anything else of note to come from the tournament I'll keep you posted.

TTT2 - Adding Tag Button to Bound Move Inputs Alters Tracking

While we all know that pressing the Tag button with the input of a bound move brings in the partner character for a TA combo, it seems that it adds a little more changes to a move's properties in how it tracks. As YOU@KYSG demonstrates in the following video, the second hit of Nina's Ivory cutter gains further tracking to Nina's left after a blocked jab. This is the example used within the video but it's been documented that other bound moves like Jin's ff+3, Kazuya's d/b+2, Dragunov's wr+2 and ff+2 and several other bound moves gain additional tracking with the added tag button input. It's an interesting bit of information to know and maybe worth adding to your gameplay. The video (neta100) is from theater10's YouTube channel and there's further documentation on this on YOU@KYSG's Zexi page.

SHC2 - Official Direct-Feed Uploads from MASTERCUP

MASTERCUP have recently uploaded matches from the SPECIAL HAMMERs CUP 2 tournament this year onto the official MASTERCUP YouTube channel. Great way to catch up on SHC2 if you happen to have missed it and can't stand low quality stream rips. The upload speed of these matches are also pretty good this time around since it usually takes a month or two for Mastercup to upload video archives from a tournament. You can watch the videos below which I've added player names with.

Seoul Station GameCity Arcade Center

In South Korea, Green Arcade isn't the only place one can go for really competitive Tekken. Game City Arcade Center which I believe is near Seoul Station is another great place to go if you ever find yourself in South Korea. For those of us that can't get to it, the arcade has taken steps to be more online connected by streaming Tekken to Daum and opening both a Twitter and Youtube account similarly to how Green Arcade has opened a Twitch channel, Twitter & YouTube channel. This isn't exactly all new but I feel like I should bring it up for those interested in more Korean Tekken variety. Now my Korean is kinda fuzzy.... and mostly bad but the big poster image for the arcade seems to advertise that the arcade has fighting games, rhythm games, retro games, a clean place, Wi-Fi, being close to a train station, smoking area, place to charge your phone, get a drink and take a shit. Sold.

SHC2 - Tournament Archive Up on YouTube

Finally uploaded roughly 12 hours of Tekken from the recent SPECIAL HAMMERs Cup 2 tournament onto my Youtube channel. If you missed watching the event live, you can catch up with the YouTube archive. Tournament Top 8 starts at the 08:38:50 mark and you can see how hairy Special Hammers' hands are at the 11:32:50 mark. Big thanks goes to MASTERCUP for running all of this!
