TTT2 - Japanese Tournament, Kumites & Online Ranked Matches ft. Kuro Kuro & Knee Archives

There was a suprising amount of Tekken going on this past weekend. First off, Kuro Kuro & Shana (both Japanese players) visited Korea to interview Korean players for the Tekken Mura website and play some Tekken. Kuro Kuro went to Knee's house to stream online Ranked matches with him onto his niconico community page. Secondly, Nobi and BKC went to the Oita prefecture in Fukuoka for a kumite event as well as a random 2on2 tournament inside the Amusement Spot arcade. Lastly, Namco held a Kumite event in Osaka, Japan featuring the recent Ranking Battle winner Amigo as well as Osaka's own Burimaru and Matador. This was all streamed on niconico but for those who don't have premium accounts, I've got it all archived on YouTube below.

DOUBLE CUP MASTERCUP W1 CLIMAX2014 Announced

DOUBLE CUP is the next newly announced tournament that MASTERCUP is going to be organising this year in the Hokuriku region of Japan. The tournament has a hefty name so everybody will just abbreviate this tournament to "W杯" - W CUP (get it? W sounds like 'daburu.') Anyways, the tournament will be a 3on3 team format tournament with an initial cap of 42 teams totaling 126 players. Its going to be held inside Hokuriki's Bypass Leisureland Arcade on the 20th of July this year and given it's location, Double Cup may not be streamed. Like all other Mastercup tournaments though, the official YouTube channel will surely be uploading match videos from Double Cup so you can at least look forward to that. If there's anything else of note to come from the tournament I'll keep you posted.

Tekken Team Battle - New Promotional Campaign

For those unfamiliar with the mobile game - "Tekken Team Battle" is an online smartphone game that is integrated with the Japanese Tekken-Net service for Tekken Tag Tournament 2 Unlimited (Arcade.) You use your Tekken-Net account to log in and play a small game where you level up Tekken characters and do battles for stats and experience. This week, Bandai Namco announced that there will be a new campaign being run for the game which will include prizes such as Special "Tekken Team Battle" Banapassport cards (Limited to 50 people only) and a title plate (チームの絆) to use in the arcade version of Tekken Tag Tournament 2. The event will commence on the 14th of May at 02:00 PM and last until the 18th of June at 10:00 AM (JST.) If you are interested in playing the game on your phone, you will have to first create a Japanese banapassport account and then log into the game with it.
