Basic Soul Calibur 6 Gameplay & Characters Guide
I want to emphasis the 'basic' part of this guide with info on Soul Calibur 6 being pulled from the small pamphlet thing at EVO Japan. It goes over the basic gameplay controls for SC6 as well as details key moves for the currently revealed roster. Since it was originally in Japanese, here is all the info in English. A Button = Guard
Forward + A Button = Guard Impact (Defensive ability that parries incoming attacks)
X Button = Horizontal Attack
Y Button = Vertical Attack
B Button = Kick Attack
RB Button = Reversal Edge Attack (New Battle System mechanic which goes into Rock, Paper, Scissors on hit)
RT Button = Critical Edge (Your high damaging and cinematic 'Super' attack)
Back + RT Button = Soul Charge (A state that enhances your characters capabilities for a period of time)
LB Button = Break Attack (Moves that will beat Reversal Edge and Guard Impact attempts)
LT Button = Throw
Back + LT Button = Back Throw
Control Pad or Analog Stick = 8 way run movement. For this guide, numpad notation is used:
Reversal Edge Mechanic:
On successfully landing a Reversal Edge attack, you and the opponent will be put into a Rock Paper Scissor-like situation. The Reversal Edge mechanic is a tool to help you deal with certain offensives.
Horizontal Attacks (X Button) beat Kicks (B Button)
