Tekken 7: All 1+3 and 2+4 Throws can be broken with either 1 or 2

Thanks again to Wonkey's hard work scouring the interwebs we've found out that the throw system in Tekken has been significantly modified. You no longer have to pay attention to which hand your opponent used to generic grab you with to break it. You just need to hit any punch button. The unique command grabs like Giant Swing, Headbutt, etc. still require you to react, but the generic 1+3 & 2+4 throws no longer demand that you read which hand came out.

The throw system was fine as it was. Newbies will get frustrated by throws whether they can break with 1 or 2 or whatever. Meanwhile, Namco completely neutered the throw game for veterans. I doubt you will ever see a throw land in a high level match in T7.

If Namco wanted to make the game more accessible to newbies, they should have done it in more obvious ways. The combo system should have been simplified so that bread and butter juggles are easy to learn. TTT2 had way too much of a learning curve up front with TA and having to learn fillers and enders. The tailspin system also arbitrary lengthens combos and increases the amount of inputs involved. It's not as bad though, since at least you don't have to learn two characters to do the primary combos.

They should have also given the game a really hot new look. To keep it looking the exactly the same was a HORRIBLE mistake. From the perspective of a newbie, it looks just like the game they previously rejected. Why would they bother to give the game a second look?

So...
Generic throws = noob
Command throws = pro
They didn't solve anything except wasted time designing/motion capturing all these cool generic throws. Why not just make a tutorial mode?

God I love these Tekken tears.

This is a great change that removes some of the pointless complexity that nearly killed the series. I don't need to learn what every throw on every character looks like, I just need to be able to react.

Perhaps it removes a mindgame that <1% of Tekken players care about.

And for the guy blasting people who don't go to tournies - maybe if the game was easier to master, or as Aris has put it in the past - less time to have fun - MORE PEOPLE WOULD ACTUALLY SHOW UP.

I like the idea of making throw breaking more accessible, but I don't think that's the right way to do it. This pretty much throws an interesting system out of the game. It would be cool if there was some sort of slight punishment for choosing the wrong button, like, for example, only taking half damage from the throw, or a different throw break animation that causes slight frame disadvantage when compared to breaking with the correct button, or pushes the enemy downards slightly (towards the wall), anything. Just making it so that both buttons break the throw equally is kind of a waste, IMO.

This mechanic worked well in Tekken2, remember. I really miss it. I'd prefer the generic break was a little more complicated, like back then with the 2+4 or 1+3 version, but i'm willing to try it out. That way it avoid mashing, but still does what they want.

How many times aris says its not you. AAK disable the comment section after cosmic forge posts nasty comment about Tekken 7 oki. Thats the last comment I read before AAK disabled the comments. Its not only you who always posts on the comments section so dont give yourself credits and praise. In general the tekken community, and the comments section of any tekken site and videos are toxic. Even tekkenzaibatsu thinks Xiaoyu is nerfed even though she becomes a great poking character in tekken 7. Simply because she dont use oki anymore. Nice logic since tekken 7 isnt about the oki system.
