I doubt that the game is 'generational' but the story will have flashbacks. I also doubt that this is a reboot, and that aris is looking too much into costume design. And i am pretty sure that the final boss will be kazumi who will not be dead, with a pet tiger that attacks, and that she can transform into devil form when you beat her.
This is what has me worried about Tekken 7 and so on afterwards, it kind of contradicts the whole story of Devil appearing before Kazuya and selling his soul to defeat Heihachi.
Actually it doesn't. Devil just might have chosen to appear to him in terms he would understand at that time. Not only that but by appearing in that way and forging the "deal" he made Kazuya believe that he doesn't have the control. It took him all the way till tekken 4 to actually understand that he is in control (again by overcoming him in the temple), what he didn't get is that he was in control all the time since the devil was always a part of him, his dark side so to speak.
Same goes for jin, devil jin, the problem is that he loathes his dark side so much that he has separated it entirely (think multiple personality disorder). Sometime in the past kazuya might have hated that side in the same way but since he willingly "sold his soul" he kinda accepted the deal, eventually becoming the "evil" Kazuya we know.
To add even more to the fire, story wise just how much is Kazuya actually evil is vague, same with heihachi, both of them are to emotional (lol?!) and to hell bent to kill one another, while Jin is more evidently evil because he has plunged whole earth in the chaos.
Granted he did that in order to annihilate an even bigger threat, but he has to be really cold and calculated in order to really pull that kind of move. If anything when ever he goes "emo" he turns into Djin. We rarely see Djin calm, while Jin (bar the comedy) is almost always eerily calm. Which just points to just how much he has separated the two personae (Jin and Djin).
In this light even Angel makes sense, since it is a positive manifestation of kazuya's power, but since Kazuya's mind find the notation so remote, angel actually is an opposite sex, based upon what was good in him (his mother and jun)
I could go on, since it looks like I like to write long wall of text that none reads ^_^

Honestly Kazumi kinda reminds me of Eliza with the fringe and side locks.
Especially when we see a close up of her eyes I swear to god it looks so much like Eliza to me

Oh mans, I absolutely didn't notice the more-feminine devil face until you pointed it out. So wild.
Good catch, Aris!

^^ pretty good theory.
Question, What part does the tiger play? Almost feels like she'll,possibly be a tt1 unknown boss.
