Japanese SoulCalibur II HD Online Tier List (1/31)
This is a tier list that was posted onto the internet by Michang who is a Japanese Soul Calibur player that I translated. Although Japan hasn't received the game in Japanese yet, (maybe some differences from say SC2 JP to PAL?) this might spark some interesting discussion and I hope to see more of this game from Japan when more of the players get access to it. Take a look at the tier list yourself below.

Wow if Japan get's the NTSC version I might actually pick this up *again; seriously though damn they hate the Western world to have graced us with the shotty buggy PAL port...
Hope they will eventually patch the game that they have already sold to us.
I can see where they're coming from with Maxi. In the Japanese tournaments I've seen, he's rolling people with three moves. Further, I've gotten stupid stuff like 236K to combo into 3B+BB at the ring edge for 152 damage.
Maxi SS tier? da fuk...y was this not known during SC2 glory days? what exactly makes him SS tier?
NTSC Maxi is actually pretty weak. Doesn't deal a lot of damage, and his strings are risky.
PAL Maxi has a BS low on the other hand that lets him deal massive damage with little risk. In the Japanese tournaments I've watched, he basically plays like this: 236B,3B+KB, 326K 3B+KB doesn't matter if 236B is blocked or not either.
Third move in Japanese matches is the standard 6A+B which still TC's H's like nothing.
For what it's worth, NTSC Maxi was mid-tier according to Japan but considered low or bottom-tier pretty much everywhere else, so this huge jump makes sense. I'm not convinced he's any better than the likes of Xianghua, NM, Yoshi, etc. but he's definitely a strong character now that his mid-low game has to be respected.
I thought Seong Mina was supposed to be worse than Kilik?
