Magical Reporting Wonkey as always!

Super surprised that the whole tournament is going to be FT2 except Grand Finals.

The most interesting thing here is that there is going to be character lock. Why?

And lol @ no spots for any European players. I thought France really had some decent players...

Also, can't we just give all the money to Knee and save ut the time? I called it, Knee is going to win. That man is unstoppable. His refelxes and experience level is out of this world! JDCR will be second.

I'm glad it all will be broadcasted. It will be really interesting to watch all the best of the best from around the world have a go at it!

Why in the list not present Russia?

A qualifier for some counties would be a better and more accurate description, and only us qualifier is on west coast.

Way to fuck over Europe Namco.

Japan has a good shot at winning the whole thing, it's unfortunate there are no European players, probably due to cost. The Philippines has lots of good players too. I don't know about the other countries.

I just, I just hate that Europe has been left out of this. Yo, nothing against New Zealand, but it gets a player of its own?! That place has more sheep than people!

Now I know that the championship is being contested via the arcade build of TTT2, and I also know that gaming arcades in Europe, at least in the UK where I live, are pretty much non-existent.

However, that doesn't mean that Europe has to be ineligible. TONNES of players in the UK play on arcade sticks hooked up to the console version. So they would easily be able to compete on an arcade machine, it just wouldn't be an issue. All they would have to do is set up a machine for the qualifier, I'm sure that wouldn't be so impossible.

Also, if you look at the US, arcades have been in decline for a long time now, the focus is really shifting to console. So if these organisers continue to fetishise arcade play over console play, it's going to end up being a tekken world split in two, with only Asia 'allowed' to compete in events like this.

That will suck in the long term. But what do I know, I'm British, according to these douchebags I don't even live on planet Earth anymore.

If I, as a competitive gamer, aren't allowed to compete at the highest levels in this game without moving from Europe why should I bother playing it over others? To support Namco in buying 5 dollar hats and adding vampires? Fuck Harada and his indoor glasses.

this is just the first tourney.

support it and it will expand. they're really going out of their way in having a tourney with a 10,000 dollar grand prize. this is a ridiculously large gamble for the koreans. if it catches on, who is to say that next year's tourney won't expand to 40 representatives including an east coast player and european players.

reread the article and 10,000 is the total prize money. still, that's extremely significant for a tourney for only one game. i'm just glad that this game is getting the hype that it deserves right now.
