i never use the bounce cancel. should i?

The only times I use bounce cancel is when I want a stage transition at the end of a combo. But normaly the damage is scaled so much that I dunno if it is worth 2 bars of meter. But it looks really cool and can be that little extra damage you need that you couldn't get otherwise.

Ok so I have a ps3 and I can't get it to bounce cancel! It just punches them twice and then dashes right at them and it's during practice mode! I try to do it as fast as I can too!
