MASTERCUP.5 | Video archive now up on Youtube + 15on15 Battle

Okay so chances are you either screwed up, got screwed over by nico or ignored my advice on reserving the timeshift/share of the MASTERCUP event. Don't worry though, I've managed to record practically all the matches on stream in their low quality, non premium nico served goodness and uploaded them to my Youtube channel. I've also chucked in the videos from the Mastercup eve event (Tekken Bancho forces vs Mattari forces 15on15) in Namco Sugamo a night before Mastercup. Check it out below.

Note: Just letting you guys know about this in advanced, all the matches on stream were captured in their entirety except the Jisoo (Kuma/Panda) vs Higeken (Dragunov/Bryan) match and bits of the Pekosu (Bob/Jinpachi) vs KAREI (Jinpachi/Lars) in the GF. Everything else should be watchable.

....

As mentioned before, this is the MASTERCUP eve event held in Namco Sugamo. Tekken Bancho's forces goes up against the forces of Mattari in a 15on15 (It says it's a 15on15...) battle a night before the big tournament. The team that loses this event has to get their leader to put on the defeated Xiaoyu cosplay outfit on stream. It's not a pretty picture If you've seen that Xiaoyu video. Genya and Hameko on commentary.

Great matches. Nice veriety of characters here. I wish arcade cabinets were used in tournaments here in the U.S. That would be awesome.

watch how the japanese attempt to bait and troll with their tags. in my opinion, it may seem like they are more reckless with their tagging than the koreans, but really it's a different strategy.

take all of this with a grain of salt, since i do not play at tourney level. way too far out of the loop to even consider myself a serious player...

anyway, it seems overall, koreans are more worried about losing to high damage combos whereas the japanese are more worried about losing to pokes and trades. koreans are more likely to not tag out until they feel that one combo will kill them while the japanese will try to disperse damage equally over their two characters, prolonging the game of pokes and trades.

since i've only seen korean death matches and a single elimination japanese tourney, my general overview of game play of the two nations is definitely limited, especially since the strategies involved in a death matches versus single elimination situations are so vastly different. i would really like to see high level round robin matches between the two nations.

Anybody know who the DJ/Hei player in the grey/red themed matching "superhero" customizations is? I don't recognize him - it isn't Shou.

The player in question has a match at the 1h22m mark of the "Part 4" video.

@ Caldred,

That DVJ/Hei player is Deku.

You can see more matches from him here:
