TTT2: "We Are Tekken" Console Trailer

Another trailer was released today. This one is a bit more traditional with the usual bad music and fast cutting camera angles. However, two interesting things to note are the fact that they put so much emphasis on improved online play and a roster with over 50 characters. Recently, in an interview with NowGamer, Katsuhiro Harada stated...

"What is your approach to DLC in Tekken Tag Tournament 2?

Regarding DLC, or disk-locked content, Tekken’s never really done that before and charged for it. However, we did have a system, if you remember Tekken one through five, where characters unlocked as you play, but we never charged for it. The concept itself was there.

Really the player’s opinions and heated discussions surrounding this is about whether or not you should charge for it. And this isn’t really directed at Capcom, it’s something I’ve been saying for a long time now, I see characters and their move sets as kind of like chess pieces.

They are essential items necessary in the competitive aspect of the game and we would never sell them individually. I’ve been saying that since before the whole thing happened and that stance hasn’t changed."

This is an interesting stance on something that is so obviously design to make money. Let's hope the best fighting game out there has one of the best console versions of all time.

Harada-San is a smart man! No payed DLC characters please!!

Also, I really like the sound of that 'Superior Online Play' part.. looking at how well SCV is online, this is good news indded for my country which has no archades nor a huge FG community!

Too good!!

They basically have two options...it has to be as good as the arcade version or better. Worse than the arcade version is inadmissible, while better would just piss off the arcade owners Capcom style :))) I only hope that the new characters are in tone with the Tekken lore, even if they are completely new, and even though they can't possibly make a more bad ass character then Feng :) (BT 1+4 or 2+3 the most awesome throw i have ever seen in a fighting game)...

If this is his opinion on scamming fans with intentionally witheld content, it really makes me feel good about the future of the series and buying them.
