ATP Review of the New EightArc Arcade Stick
BY Aris ON Sunday, September 25, 2011 at 1:14PM
There's a new arcade stick in town and it has some features that make it quite unique. I did a quick video review for one of the new EightArc arcade sticks which you can check out below. Follow the link below to their official web site where you can purchase their sticks as well as stick parts.

That's pretty sick
awesome to see new companies stepping it up.
the stick that came out on TGS is the Razer Xbox 360 Arcade stick.

I wish they make one for PS3 since they have good ideas.
You should apply for the beta testing Aris

These are re-branded Qanba sticks. Qanba has been around for some time, starting out by making sticks with knockoff parts in a weird button layout, but they later made sticks with more conventional Sega and Vewlix layouts. I guess they are naming them 8Arc for the North American/European market.
The reason why Qanba/8Arc can make a dual-compatible stick is because they are a Chinese company that is not licensed by Sony or Microsoft.
You can get the Qanba Q4, which is the same as the 8Arc Fusion, for only $150 from Focusattack.com whenever they get them back in stock: http://www.focusattack.com/products/Qanba-Q4RAF-XB360-PS3-PC-Compatible-Joystick.html
Etokki.com has been selling this dual-modded stick for some time and they claim to be "the first ever controller to natively support both the PS3 & Xbox360 straight out of the box."

i dont believe the parts are sanwa but its ridiculously cheap
Wing brings up a good point but, an even better one and maybe more important to Tekken players is that etokki also sells an all Korean parts stick for about $190 thats dualmodded out of the box. They even have a Sanwa version too.

This is cool and all, but what I would like for once is some actual differences in the sticks. Like different alternaitves in the parts they use. The way it is now they all are the same -the same sanwa parts.
I would like a stick with a octogonal restrictor gate. Or a stick with bat-top. Or a stick with Korean parts in it. (They use rubber, not spring to make the joystick go back to neutral) This makes a huge difference, therefore koreans can easily to the movement they do while rest of the world eat their dust. It's all in the sticks.
If a company really gave me som actual alternatives in their sticks I'll buy. Or else I'm happy with my MadCatz TE.
@DrBhup the standard JLF restrictor plate is 4/8 way. It comes in preset in a square gate, but you can switch it to octagonal.
Wow jetblaksuit, those sticks look amazing. Thanks for the link!
I have received confirmation from my contact at EightArc on the differences between the Q4 and the EightArc Fusion.
1. EightArc start button has been removed from the top panel and moved to the top right mini buttons. the Q4 has the start button on the main face.
2. the headphones wrap around 1 ear instead of being the iPhone-like earbuds.
3. handle has been removed
Aris, what do you think of ball top vs bat top? Springs vs rubber? Circular restrictor gates vs square? Especially considering these things when implemented for use in Tekken.
korean sticks are fucking garbage.
Good thing I just ordered a stick a week ago BEFORE seeing this after I broke my old one. -.-
Nice review QanBa changed to EightArc? Been looking to get a QanBa for awhile now, I'm defiantly going to do so.
Meh, it uses the Viewlix cabinet layout instead of the superior Namco Noir cabinet layout. Not interested.
Why do you think korean sticks are trash? I want a good opinion on that.
I'd love to hear more about the pros and cons of Korean sticks, what games there better suited to (better for Tekken and VF but not 2d?), what the best ones out there are and how difficult they are to adapt to.
Hopefully that could be covered in a podcast with someone who uses them like Kane. On LUYG he said he only uses Mishimas with a Korean stick otherwise he uses Lilli.
It looks intresting. I would get one if I didnt already have a Qanba Q4 Dual system Stick.
Nice stick. I don't have any korean sticks, only a couple of Hori's. But it looks nice.
meh, i read some thing about some stuff i dont understand so ill just make a post to myself so that i feel better about not knowing anything. totally a tool.
Lol I acually like the T6 wireless hori stick. I mean it's not the best, But its lightweight. Fits comfortably on a table top or you lap. Just have to make sure you have some fresh batteries in there.
