Episode 2 is up. I haven't watched it yet but lets try to get 70 comments on this one again. I'll start the convo off with online Tekken is not Tekken. Discuss.
@lonewolfX The only exception to that was Blazblue: Calamity Trigger. I had playable matches with JP players in that game, and I was living in ATL at the time. It was TOO fuckin' good, and should be the gold standard for all FG netcode. Too bad the game was a broken, easy mode Guilty Gear. CS fixed the broken-ness, but axed the netcode. I guess you can't have everything.

Personally, I don't think the lag online is that bad. I mean of course its gonna hella suck if your coming in and you only play at arcade or vs, but you get used to it. All you have to do is just input the notations just as you normally would, in this case earlier than what you see on the screen. These guys are taking 2's all day, and from experience I usually get bad connections on Ranked as well. I never really seem to get as many bad connection on Player match than I do on Ranked. But of course nothing beats having no lag at all, those of us who aren't as fortunate to have a sick ass arcade like Super Arcade just have to work with what we got.

This would be more interesting if you if only accepted 3-5 bar connections and actually tried a little. Watching you do two moves over and over on some casual Zafina player is just not interesting.
...and yeah, you probably shouldn't go ranked since you're only going to get matched up against people with the same rank as you, which is around beginner.
The first episode was way better where you actually tried. Accepting 2 bars and then complain about the lagg: retarded. Only using 2 moves and complaining about how bad online is: retarded. I play both on and offline and you can barely tell the difference. Maybe get better internet? I only ever see a difference when someone spamms shit like snakeedge, but surprise, good online players dont do that. They pretty much play like seasoned players. But obviously you wont meet them on a 2 wins 1 loss acount, duh. Also, ive had players ragequit OFFLINE on me, so dont pretend like this only happens online.
Play this stuff seriously, only accept 5 bars and play some decent players with 5k+ games played and I guarantee you, even you guys will get your ass handed to urself every now and then. But I really dont see the point of picking on complete beginners. Do you think that a 20 game player would not play incredibly bad offline? Dont kid yourselves. How about I play vs my sister offline, record it and then claim "LOL LOOK AT OFFLINE TEKKEN SO BAD CANT EVEN DASH DURRRRR".
@D-O-$ingle_G: I'll admit that BB: CT had a very playable netcode, but that doesn't change the fact that lag will be accountable in some shape. Perhaps when the time comes when we have excellent connections as Asia, we can have acceptable fights. The day netcode is as flawless as offline play will be the day fighting games enter a new era of competition.
@Centaur: While I did like the first episode better, I came to realize that this show is appropriately titled "Bogus Journeys" so don't expect them to showcase their true skills. I'd probably relate it to wrestling and call it "World Bogus Journeys Entertainment" because that's what they are doing....entertaining with a small moveset. At least, the outcome isn't booked.

To start a war between Tekken-players is really not the way to go. We should try to save the community. There are not many people interested in fighting games in the first place or they are into 2D fighters like SSFIV. Those few people that are actually interested in becoming great Tekken-players should not have to deal with pros like Rip, MYK and True harrassing them like this.
When that is said, online is really not that good because Tekken is a 3D game and has alot of information that need to be exchanged between palyers far apart in 1/60 of a eocond. That is not possible. I live in Norway and have broadband. (This is a rich country and everybody has broadband) When I play some of my friends that live in the 'same state' there is not much difference than offline. It's not totally like offline but it is a-ok. Luckily I have friends interested in Tekken so I invite them over and we play offline, but online is not totally useless.
What about those who don't have archades in their country. Not whole world is like USA you know. What about those who have no friends playing fighting games?? Don't be rude to people and make fun of them if you don't have a solution.
Shame on you Rip, MYK and True! Also Aris for supporting this harrasment!
Not to sound like some 'nuthugger' but Aris didn't voice his oppinion on the bogus series other than spreading the tekken news as most tekken dedicated sites do. If nothing he did a smart thing of not expressing his opinion (maybe due to the fact that he just doesn't give a shit :)) whatsoever on this subject rather than the amusement.
As for the difference between online and oflline, there is much difference in higher levels of play, most people who don't play in the arcades simply don't notice that difference that much. You simply have to play a high level enough play in the arcade to actually notice those fine differences that can brake a match that (believe it or not) requires much fine tunning of senses and reactions.
When you are used to that almost 0% lag gameplay in ofline arcade enviroment even that 1% will make it odd.
But the botom line stays, so far the idea of this sries is not something good, and it is offending even if it is ment not to be or whatever.
This Bogus Journey concept needs to include opponents with high ranks. You can't play against people with less than 30 matches and then talk trash about how scrubby they are, that's weak. It's not that they play online that makes them scrubs, it's that they are just actually scrubs.
As for the state of online Tekken - I think the online needs to become at least respectable for the long-term health of the series. I don't know if anyone's noticed but the fighting game space is looking to get even crowded and even more options for players to pick. If the online sucks, players will move on. Looking at SF4 as an example, I think it helps build their community that someone can see Latif or Wolfkrone competing at the top levels and see that they used online as a big part of their training. It gives your average player hope that if they put the time in, they can become great (even though it's not that easy). If this Bogus Journey show can show some 4-5 bar matches against some good players, I think there is some potential.

People can do whatever they want. That is true. But all in all just like the topic says. Offline Tekken is not Tekken....so....yeah.What is so hard to understand?
Causeless Rebel just bc you dont have any arcades where you live doesn't mean everyone has to suffer for your misfourtune. So watch your mouth little boy. Im done with you. The last thing we need is some jobber like you making things less exciting.
To be honest I can't really see why online is considered bad a solid 3-5 bar connection usually works very well and even if it has even the slightest bit of lag I see that as a plus mainly because slight lag = requires quicker inputs which means you could train yourself to react quicker and so on. Think of it as attaching weights on your body and then wearing them for a few hours, once you remove those weights you'll be light as a feather. Online works very well as long as you don't try to play on a 1-2 bar connection with people on the other side of the world, I have not seen a single reason as to why online is considered bad at all. Punishing (every kind even JF's), BDC, WD, Juggling, ducking strings are all very very doable online. Also bear in mind that the ps3 online is nowhere near in comparison to xbox 360's both are playable (tried both) but xbox 360 doesn't have those long loading times before the match.
@Centaur That idea is garbage just because someone has over 5k fights doesn't make them good. My tip would be forget ranked and go on the forums and search for players that plays on the same console as you do, then add em and create private rooms.
@INFAMOUSMINDED You dumb ass troll how dare you tell him you are oblivious as to how fatal an attitude like that can be to a scene. I pity players who think like you. I respect Aris and Rip I would love to hear Aris's opinion on what players without an offline scene should do to get better. Idgaf if you bash me some shit needs to be said I'll say what needs to be said unlike spoiled little bitches like you who've learned to hide behind the major players of your scene and throw it up every chance you get that you come from a strong scene like NYC who the fuk are you. I know Fab, don't know you. I know BloodRed don't know you. Your a no name and as such I don't respect you.
P.S. step your tekken game up before you challenge me to a battle I be nice and give you a warning http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KRFvMHYc20U&feature=channel_video_title
Infamous I really dont know what your problem is or what point your trying to make, when did not having an arcade become a misfortune for anyone? and what makes you think I've got a problem with offline tekken? I havent got a problem with offline tekken, Its the offline community that have nothing better/productive to do but bash the online community. I'd rather be an open minded "little boy" than a close minded ignorant geriatric.
whether you like it or not, online tekken is still tekken, everything offline can be done online the only difference is the timing. The quest for getting better in this game has brought me to sites such as this, so I dont undertsand how you say playin online dosent help community in general.. Its close minded people such as yourself and other people bashing online tekken that destroy the already weakened FG scene.
Please leave us alone, we just want to enjoy tekken in peace. stick to your offline/arcade whilst I stick to my couch
If Tekken online ain't Tekken then Wtf is? Aris go fuxkin kill yourself. When you started MK9 you wanted them to accept you for being new but your going to completely disrespect a whole group of people cause they have to deal with lag online. Why don't you cut those pubes off your fuxkin face an grow the fuxk up. You always be talking about how you want help the community. Community this community that but then you wanna talk shit on part of it. It's like being racist. We are playing the same game you are you over grown balloon.

Wow!!! I probably wont look at the vid, don't really have the time. I will say that the commentary about the vid is priceless!!! Thanks guys!
After landing ss+3+4 with King repeatedly, Rip is now my hero.

People can do whatever they want. Play online, play offline or hate Tekken. All I do is voice my opinion. Don't be so sensitive.
