The Legendary JoyBox Arcade Closes Its Doors
BY Aris ON Thursday, August 11, 2011 at 11:41AM
Easily one of the coolest Japanese arcades will be closing its doors next week. JoyBox arcade in Shinjuku Japan was a Tekken hot spot for many years. I feel very lucky to have been able to visit this arcade on multiple occasions and play some of the worlds best Tekken players there. With the rising price of arcade cabinets and the waning number of players who consistently play, a time has come in which all mom and pop arcades are in danger of closing. This is a sad reality that arcade fans like myself have to accept. Last time I was in Japan, I recorded a video showing JoyBox arcade. You can check that video out below.

Sad.
oh no : (
We gotta support our arcades people. Arcades should not be going out of business like this. I was so sad the day Chinatown Fair closed.
hey Aris ive just noticed that you look exactly like the vocalist from All Shall Perish
u r lucky Aris... Wish I had a possibility to visit that place... Really sad
Very sad.
u know things are going really bad for arcades, when japanese arcades are closing
Does that mean less and less people in Japan are playing in the arcades lately? I can't believe this.
I've already seen that vid. Yuu won against you in World Championship in Tokio. His Feng is one of the best I've ever seen.
