Bah, there is no way I can beat good players when it's back to TTT movement... I fucking hate that game

NAMCO please bring T6 movement back OK!

They brought back the same font that was in tekken tag 1! :D

I know this is only a location test, but Bruce is looking lower on the tiers if they keep d+3,4 to his Muay Thai stance. No more combo resets?? :(
Okay, I am now a believer. Jaycee might be Julia or Michelle. True Ogre's df+1+2 from tekken tag 1 not hitting grounded opponents is a very good idea. FC f+2 should also whiff vs grounded imho. Jinpachi does not look overpowered, but maybe that just means the guy who was using him was unfamiliar with Jinpachi, cause, DUDE.
Bob and Ling both still look very good.

Pretty nerve wracking. "Is my character going to be heavily nerfed?"

Any hype i could/would/did have for this game is kinda killed but the retarded "old school" movement mechanics, hate em.

To all fags complaining about movement buffs: Are you fucking joking? what's to dislike about great movement mechanics? it adds so, so much to the game without taking anything away, that is, unless you played some lesser known character and spammed their attacks all throughout t6 against opponents that didn't know what or when they could punish exactly, though they couldn't get away so you'd just keep spamming. These videos get my approval. Very stoked.

Dose the damage look higher to anyone else?

Looks awesome. I'm glad to see a bigger emphasis on movement instead of blocking. Just like good ol' TTT. If Tag 2 can reach even half of the majesty of the first game, I'll be pleased.

still kinda confused on how rage works. seems like your partner gets it and it goes away? idk

and it seems like combos do less damage (around 1/3 life per character) in this game, in relation to the bar size.

How come Japanese and Korean Tekken Tag 2 cabinets come stocked with different joysticks? country preference?

That new 1+4 move for Feng looks really shitty, and they nerfed his uf+2 :/ I could be wrong, but it looked like his shoulder did more damage though, I always hated how it did less damage than 1,2,2.

Jin's ws+1,2 bounds, that's cool.

Looks like Ogre gets a juggle of the flames at close range, lol, can't remember if it was like that in tag 1.

and holy shit @ the Bryan nerfs I'm reading about, I wonder if all of them will stay for the final version.

Haha, Steve says "don't let me down" to his partner in the intros, how fitting.

If you look closely, in stages where there are dirt/soot/ashes, when the character is knocked down, when they get back up there already covered with dirt/soot/ashes... +effects !__!

so what the hell is the point of doing 'tag assault' combos? it appears that your second char loses their red recovery health when they're tagged in using this.. while the old school launcher~5 tag combos kills your opp's red health bar as it did before. I don't see much of a difference in damage either

old school movement = takes more skill to move well

fuck yea

Looks really awesome, I like how the tag combos have been sped up and it doesn't ruin the momentum of the game. I'm glad to see the movement is more similar to DR, DR's movement was always the best for me on a competitive level through I didn't mind T6's movement. King got some new moves, glad to see that. Jin's 1,4 is dismantlement, really hope he has something just as good instead to replace it.

Aris I'd love for you guys to do a podcast on the latest 3 hour footage to hear your opinions and an in depth analysis of the game so far. Would be interested to hear your opinion as a professional fighting game player.

What on earth is that spinny stomp thing Julia..er, Jaycee keeps doing?

Tuesday, May 17, 2011 at 5:12 PM | Unregistered CommenterWarpticon

I'll clarify a few things here between viewings.

@jonsf
Rage was removed from TTT2 in favor of the old "netsu" system, returning from TTT. I say it as "netsu", because that's not it's real name nor has it ever been, it was called ikari, or anger, in Japan, then some kind of translation error occured and it was called netsu, which means cold, here in the west. But this is how it works: as your character takes damage, your other character gets angry and his health begins flashing, and he gets a damage boost for a short perioid. Different character setups determens how fast ikari activates, for instance paul+law would cause ikari to activate sooner than paul+kazuya, because paul and law go well together because they're friends.

@Deathbybears
Japanese cabinets use jap parts, Korean cabinets use Korean parts. I belive it's more of a cost thing than preference, but don't quote me on that. Bat top sticks are the norm in Korea, where as the japs use ball tops.

@Warpticon
"spinny stomp" is her moonsault UB, similar to both Kings' move. I have no idea why was that player doing it all the time. Day 1 gameplay I guess, lol.
