    Response: LD Maxi Intervjuas

Being probably one of the oldest Tekken/SC players around at 39 (started playing fighters in its infancy around '92), I find that my reflexes are about the same as they have ever been. Though it's fun to use the "old man" excuse when I lose on occasion, I still feel it's a matter of skill level, how often I play against better people, and how competitive people are around me rather than anything to do with my reflexes.

As much as I still love fighters, yeah, they take a tremendous amount of time and dedication to be good at. I feel once you get past 35ish, the love for fighters is still there, but the competitive flame and dedication isn't as strong as it used to be (its replaced with a feeling of "been there, done that"). Take it from someone who is actually past that point.

I remember being in an old Quake 1 clan back when that game was popular in the late nineties. There was this old guy who was like, 66 years old. He could tear anyone a new asshole in that game just like any of the younger players.. if not more efficiently. ;)

The mindset that ldmaxi brings up about Korean parent's is very true. The whole "if there's nothing to come out of it, don't even bother wasting time on it" mentality runs deep with Koreans. If there's no success or future in it in the end, Korean parents look down on their child for doing such things. In this case it would be Tekken, and like maxi has stated that mentality really does start creeping up on oneself after a certain amount of time.
