Mortal Kombat TE Arcade Stick Looks Like It's From 20 Years Ago. (Updated)
BY Aris ON Monday, December 13, 2010 at 2:58PM
Screen shots have surfaced of both the Kollectors and Tournament Edition of Mortal Kombat. Obviously I'm mostly concerned with the arcade stick. I have to say I'm totally shocked. First of all, It looks similar to a MAS stick which is an all but extinct design. It also looks like it uses American arcade parts of some sort, and to seal the deal, they used the proprietary MK layout so you can only play one game with this stick. I'll still be adding it to my Stick collection because it does look cool, but its functionality is to be determined.
Tournament Edition
UPDATE -
- The TE will cost $149.99.
- The Stick uses Suzo Happ parts.
- Underside will have memory foam.

Jesus, what the hell is that? Looks like a lunch box for kids. The plastic enclosure for the exposed button and stick wires is real classy (lol). I thought for sure they would not use that stupid layout, but of course, MK never lives up to anyone's expectations.
Lol! Good luck with that shit. Waste of money I'd say.
Yeah, I can't say its looking good, but if anything I'll get one just to talk shit about it on the podcast.
How are they going to make an arcade fight stick for a franchise that has not been in arcades since MK4 back in 97! Who is the developer of the fight stick? If it's not Hori or madcatz then I don't know about this one.
Looks good for those who like classic MK layout, and simple designs. No curves, no complicated geometric corners or whatever like the one Vewlix cabs. Just a boxy box.
I guess it does look just like the old Midway cabinets back in the arcades which is the only thing goin for this stick, but It just looks so out-dated. The figurines look pretty bad ass though

I'm not sure if they are actually happ buttons though. He later said "Happ style buttons." Also, according the GAmestop, the Tournament Edition of MK will cost $149.99. I rethinking my purchase.
Just read the details at Gamestop's website..

They use Suzo Happ parts...I assume they are as good IL...
Don't know.. I think I've never played on any cabinets that use Happ parts... so I'm not too familiar with them.
Actually MarkMan has just posted the details ...at SDTekken
Happ parts are legit but not used very often anymore. I'm on the fence if this stick is worth the extra $90.
I kind of dig the OG layout I have to say
this stick is awesome. if you grew up in the arcade playing MK2 and UMK3, this stick really takes you back. freaking awesome.
being an mk fan myself, it does take me back to the original mk arcade all the way to umk3 arcade. it feels awesome playing on it and it looks sweet. a must have for the hardcore fan of MK series. (ME). lol
