ATP Podcast Mortal Kombat Special feat Arturo Sanchez and LIJoe

As many of you might already know, I've taken an interest in the new Mortal Kombat. Unfortunately, it seems like the game is struggling on a competitive level so I thought I would put together a last minute podcast before Evo to discuss several different aspects of Mortal Kombat 9. I'm very happy to welcome on my good friends Art Sanchez and LI Joe who are two very reputable top level MK players who also have had great success with multiple other fighting games. Some of the topics we cover include the strength of EC vs WC, our gripes with the game, thoughts on patching as well as well as several other topics. I hope you guys enjoy it.

Rip hit the nail on the head. Good podcast overall,l but honestly Arturo was the only one that seemed grounded when talking about this games negatives. There is no need to get overly emotional about the obvious negatives of this game. This game is what it is, but its fun. I have a feeling the next iteration of this game is going to be significantly better. Oh and LI Joe is an interesting character lol This fucking guy played MK v DC competitively >< and is surprisingly very negative about MK9 when this is arguably the best MK that has ever come out. Lastly, we can always go back and forth with what fighting game is more fun so there is no reason to debate that but i will say this....l i don't have much fun playing against Yun, Fei Long, Wolvie and Pheonix in the other popular games of the fighting genre :(
P.S - MK9 had the most balanced results out of all of the major fighting games at Evo. You guys criticized the knee jerk patching, but it seems to be working thus far. BTW, this is the first MK Ive taken half seriously ....
I agree with what Joe is saying about how MK9 is good for MK because it's the best one since Ultimate. The thing you have to consider is that the goal with this game was to bring that back and in the future they will be able to expand upon those concepts in the right direction this time. Ultimate was the last good MK, so it's good that it is bringing that back, but in my opinion this is a brand new fighting game, so it should be treated with less expectation in that regard. I do agree that there is a lot to fix, especially with the trading hits issue and some things Netherrealm is still learning, but I think it's good to recognize that in the future they'll be able to learn from those mistakes. This game in my opinion is sort of the sequel to Ultimate and the games in between are almost like another series.
