Some of these guys act like they've never heard real commentary from us before, lol.
They probably haven't, but then again, I won't blame you for something you don't know. That'd be too assuming and rude of me.
I feel cornered via comments, maybe I should insult someone's looks? Oh wait, damn it, someone beat me to it.
LOL!!!!!!!
Reality:
If I was gay or wasn't gay I would find Aris very sexy. He can provide nerd grooming commentary anytime.
On the topic of the low turn out at this event. The entree fee was $50 so people were not very interested. Our bi weekly tournaments pull from 22 to 32 players consistently.
wow thats pretty good actually for a bi weekly for tekken and $50 is way too much
Any game that's not Street Fighter or Marvel is going to get hated on by stream monsters. Fuck 'em.
I was hoping to catch this live, so I am glad that I was able to check this video. The commentary was hilarious. Looks like some people need a Reality check and chill, it's not that serious.
If you registered early, the registration fee was $20, but at the door the day of it was $40 which is ridiculous. If this is a tournament that's supposed to be about the players, then you should not be charging that much at the door. For that much money, I better get a lapdance or something.
@Malice i think the reason for the huge boost in entrance fee was because Kai seeds all players by himself for at least ssf4 and if someone were to come at the door that would mess up the whole bracket because he has to float all these players to certain seeds and what not but if you came to play tekken or something else than yes it is a rip off imo
Registration fee was 20 for VENUE, then 10 per game, so it was still 30 minimum.
As for the commentary I thought it was hilarious, but there were times when you guys could have/should have said what was going on in the match. I understand 90% of the stream doesn't care about tekken, but the people who DO want to watch Tekken are feeling cheated. So in a sense, instead of turning off SF players youre turning off Tekken players from watchin the stream? How does that help the situation any?
Overall though it was good. That 'He cant find John Connor' shit killed me
Rip=best commentator James Chen of Tekken
Theres needs to be more people like James chen who say whats going on and why because usually it seems like Tekken commentary is just oh 1 break or 2 break imo it needs to go back to the basics of the game to entice the street fighter crowd to learn and maybe start to like Tekken as a game instead some trash they think it is right now
As always all suggestions are very much appreciated. Believe it or not, I'm an open minded guy. Thanks for the comments.
You are right Aris, Just Frame James does look like Evil T-1000 O.O
anyone who says "wolfies fine" in commentary gets my vote...
Eh, I can do play by play commentary no problem. I needed a break from sitting at the booth all day. It was good times. I'm glad SOME people enjoyed it.
Next time I'll bore myself and the street fighter crowd if it makes the TEKKEN crowd that didn't show up to the event, happy ;)
It's too late to change anyone's mind about Tekken 6 at this point so I feel the loose commentary was justified, especially considering the low turnout.
I do however agree that it's important for say TTT2 that commentary is informative at the start of that game's competitive lifetime. I have never touched Street Fighter 4 in my life, but I have no problem following what's going thanks to excellent commentary.
and @Markman: I see what you're saying, but your entire audience is not people who could've gone to the event.
Epic commentating. Here and on the video. cant wait to see some MOAR Aris on level up.
Too sad that JFJ lost his game. Whatever playing GayJin is true way to lose.
@ Quadrupledragon , I was just being sarcastic. I know how it is.
Very entertaining commentary. Aris, you and Mark make a great team. I hope to hear you guys commentate again!
This overly official outlook on commentary is really unnecessary and is a great way to bore ppl.
rip plays with his teeth? he must be really good!
